Is there a perfect bank? My bank, Wells Fargo, has treated me quite well. I have no qualms with them. But others may have. The banks are all the same, they all have something that we hate. So far I guess I lucked out.

When Elders go too Far...
by BigBloomerz inthis is just something that really peed me off regarding the elders, is how low they are sinking to get gossip and stuff now, i was in contact with a well trusted friend of mine who used to attend meetings up until 2 years ago, his wife is still in the jw org, he was having a joke around on some text messages with me regarding my man saying "try before you buy" and so on, which i found amusing....lets just say his wife didnt...she snooped on his phone, wrote out the texts he had sent me and gave the transcript to the elders, and now he has to go before a judicial commitee.
how wrong is that, for a start its an invasion of privacy!
i was fuming yesterday when i found out.

So much for a devoted wife. That was rude, tacky and disrespectful on his wife's part. My Ex read my diary all the time and just because he assumed things, it's what triggered my divorcing him.
When his wife presented the material to the elders, they should have ignored the whole thing. For two main reasons, 1 .) her means of getting this info 2.) because it showed her true character. they should have reprimanded her for snooping. It's obvious the elders were just excited to get into the nitty gritty of the whole story.

Wow....somebody did their homework. Thanks for breaking this all down into factual details. I find it interesting too how so many so called "Annointed" are still being counted each year for the past 20+ years. It must have exceeded 144,000 a long time ago. These changes are just a continuation of what's been going on and will continue to go on. If they never made such claims as they have in the past, they wouldn't have to make changes or explain themselves. Good thing they have all their claims in writing, because they'd have to have a good memory to remember all the lies they made.

Wow...what a story. They were certainly in the wrong in their somewhat out of the ordinary but still idiotic behavior and the daughters reaction was different too, but oh what power her tears displayed. I think things like this will be surfacing more often and it will be an increase of those idiotic maneuvers that will trigger a major decline in followers sooner than later.

Good point Sad Emo! I forgot about things such as peer pressure too. The influence from others behaviors. *duh* Well, since I forgot about that tendency and your mentioning of cultural upheavals that tells me that the majority in the world are still good ones otherwise only the bad would have come to my mind. This reminds me now too of Hurricane Katrina, the one police officer looting along with other criminals. Maybe she was a decent and honest person before that and the turmoil etc. compelled her to resort to the unthinkable. Ok, so we have tendencies brought upon us due to circumstances and influence. So they are only tendencies, in other words, take the influence away, everyone would be good? I still think so!

apparently tipping your hat to a lady is considered demonic because it shows deference to the lesser of the sexes, a man putting himself below the woman and other rambling "reasoning" about its origins in medieval times and such garbage.

Hmmm, interesting. I don't see it that way. I think when a guy show's a woman respect, he gets respect in return. It is not a case of Satan trying to get a woman into a superior position over a man. Of course anyone could claim that to be the case, as the GB obviously has done. Me being a woman, I can attest that when a guy shows me the old fashion courtesy and respect I put him on a pedestal and would never look down on him.

If that was the case, it only reveals what they still practice, (typical CULT practices) putting women down, regarded as the lesser one, the one who is not allowed to teach from the platforms. I am 110% certain you did read that and I'm surprised they never posted,
"BROTHERS, DO NOT HOLD A DOOR OPEN FOR THE WOMEN!" Or
"BROTHERS, YOU MAY INTERRUPT WHEN A WOMEN SPEAKS!"
