Isn't this similar to what JW's do or used to do to the elderly by asking or coaxing them to sign their properties and wills over to the watchtower. They are so scary.

but i hope it will persuade even one 'interested' one to avoid the jw's - and even get an existing member to think.

Went to bookstudy last night, ugh!

i have a couple who have been my friends for years, i studied with them and they became witnoids.
he is now and ms and was conducting a book study in a home last night.

There is a group of JW's that get together or at least used to get together every other friday to play Texas Hold em'. Is this not kosher for them? Are they doing it on the sly? The friend I'm always talking about actually joined a couple of my friends games and wiped the table with them. Could it be that it's at the discretion of each hall? Again, I just don't get it....such double standards.

Watchtower offer at the Farmer's Market
by V1710 intoday i went to the farmer's market to sell my bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies, canned jellies and mustard and goat milk soap an fudge.
this lady comes up and starts raving about how good my bread looks.
i use all natural ingredients and it is good bread but i was really starting to feel like a piece of toast.

Great story! I've done the same when my mother in law hands me watchtowers. Once she handed me the one talking about the end of false religion. I told her i didn't have one at the time so i didn't need this. Another time she blatantly handed one to my husband open to a page that read "when a loved one leaves Jehovah". my younger sister in law got upset and said that she hated it when she did things like that. That my husband was a grown man and knew what he needed to to with his life. She said this because my inlaw did to where everyone there would see HER good deed. I could really learn to hate them. I didn't used to have that ability. I hope to never have it that readily. Good hearing your story.

Well it's official: free2think is no longer part of the congregation

well my dad, an elder, has now said that i am no longer part of the congregation, woohoo.
i am not da'd or df'd or reproved so my question is what does that mean?

I've wondered how my husbands status is. He is in a similar situation. Has been inactive for 4-5 years now and they (his parents) still hound him every once in a while.
