John Doe,
Love the new avatar!!!!!!
i don't know if this is a worldwide thing because i didn't go the meeting where the arrangement was announced, but it's being done in my congregation anyway.
during those 6 months the member assigned to the pioneer is meant to make time to work with the pioneer as much as possible, so they can strengthen each other.
the idea is meant to be that eventually each member of the congregation will get a go.
I love how they have to point out which practices are "loving". It only proves that they are not. I'm sure most of those teamed up are single moms working two jobs trying to pay the bills, handicapped, college students, and don't have time to go out in servicio (this also means toilet in spanish jajajajaja!)

no, not gas, not a kidney stone... .
i passed my phd exams!!!!!!
ugh.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!
it occured to me the other day that many jehovah's witnesses have very bad social skills outside of the kindom hall.
my brother, who still goes to meetings but isn't a strong believer, and his wife, who is a 4th generation jw with very stong beliefs and a very self righteous attitude asked my wife and i if we'd like to go for a hike at a local national park the other day.
i faded years ago and my wife is not and has never been a jw and isn't religious.
Even his JW friends tell me that my hubby was unbearable before the inactivity. Of course they don't relate it to this, they say I made him more down to earth. I never set out to change him, just tried to open his eyes a bit.

below is a copy of the e-mail my sister sent me.
i had to make arrangements for my kids to be babysat somewhere else until after the wedding.
there little hearts are broken.
I went through this twice this year. First with the hubby's brother then the sister. At the first one we weren't acknowledged, at the second, they needed someone to walk the mom in law down the aisle, which you would assume would be the oldest son, (my hubby). He wasn't worthy for so many reasons, 1. he's inactive, 2. married a non jw, 3. showing no intention of returning, unbeknownst to them.
I know how this hurts.

for the past 5 months i have been in a wonderful relationship.
he and i had started out as friends a few years ago, but realized that we were attracted to each other while he was going through his divorce earlier this year.
he and his now ex wife are both jws .
Just know that if you are going to be a part of his life there will be many conditions to be met it you are ever to be a part of his family.
