My good friend is a jw and was acosted by a few of her jw acquaintances (can't really call them friends) because a few of our friends wished her happy birthday on her myspace page. They told her people might get the wrong impression. She said she wasn't going to be rude to those people, that some just didn't know the ways of the religion. I can only hope she has seen a small glimmer of light at the end of a dark tunnel.

today in our rehersal, i met with our district convension overseer.
he told us that college or higher education is now strongly discouraged by the society.
i argued that such policy is not practical here in the philippines since most jobs now require some sort of college education unlike in other countries where there are demands on skills regardless on educational attainment.

I am listening to this now and am sick to my stomach. This man obviously didn't go to college. Holy Crap! Ms Fuentes should know that college is not only for better money. It is to open the mind. To complete a journey. To become more tolerant of the world....you ig-no-rant bastards! Not everyone parties, I've been to more "wordly" parties thrown by JW'S than college students.

i've slowly found out that my hubby was a great big jw in his active days.
he's been inactive now for about 5 years.
he has only attended 1 memorial and one assembly recently to supposedly appease his father that came into town to have to drive 1.5 hrs to attend the one in our area.
Thanks guys, just really scared. I was just telling him last night that as happy as we were there giggling and laughing like school kids, that this wasn't always going to be the same. That i was very afraid of things changing one day. Poor guy, he doesn't deserve this but, it really is very scarry to know that i have it all, and it could all be taken away pretty quick by the flick of an eyebrow from a bastard that doesn't truly have any concern in our lives. Sorry venting again. Love you guys, your always there.

I've slowly found out that my hubby was a great BIG JW in his active days. He's been inactive now for about 5 years. He has only attended 1 memorial and one assembly recently to supposedly appease his father that came into town to have to drive 1.5 hrs to attend the one in our area. The one time we discussed this issue in our marriage, I unfortunately found out that he still feels strongly about the faith just hasn't decided to to back. I think that it is really due to the fact that he knows that it makes me a nervous wreck when the issue comes up.
My question is, how hardcore where you before now? Or rather how "in" were you before leaving. It seems there is a big mix here, those that were at bethel and those that left before adulthood.

so the hubby tells me that the fam is having a dinner at one of the restaurants in his hometown for the inlaws because it is their anniversary.
i hate the fact that when they call my stomach gets in knots.. they are the nicest people if it weren't for the jw thing.

They are the nicest people if it weren't for the jw thing. It is the only thing i dislike. My hubby also explained that next year they want to get together and have a big shindig because it will be their 30th. Again, the knots begin.
I'm sure this will involve us having to go to the dreaded "hall". I hate how uncomfortable my hubby and his brother look when we have gone for weddings in the past. The way they are shunned but not shunned sucks the life out of me. I wish this would all end. That they would miraculously open their eyes.
