  Would You Like WatchTower Better if They Open a Soup Kitchen or Charity Thrift Store?

  i see over and over so many times jws and x-jws alike complaining about wt's lack of charity work.

  it almost seems to imply that wt would be an ok religion if only they opened a soup kitchen or had some charity pet project.. do you really think that a food bank would reconcile all of the sins of that organization?.

  would you be more inclined to accept wt teachings if only they would do something to help "needy people"?.

  i sent my sister inlaw a letter

  my husband has been so upset at her ignoring him in the street lately (he was disfellowshipped 15 years ago but , she has only just started ignoring him ,shes 19 and about to get married ) i know she must find it hard to start ignoring him all of a sudden and wonder if its her future husband to be influencing her already or just the fact that she feels "guilty"for talking to her own brother , she walked past with her fiance and they both looked at my husband but looked away when he spotted them , so he can not even be introduced to his future brother in law , like normal people .

  my husband approached his parents about it and they said it is "her decision" but he is welcome to start coming to their home again as they miss our daughter since he was banned from the home a year ago .i wrote to his sister pointing out there are other girls like her who think they are doing gods will by ignoring relatives who have been disfellowshipped from the "one true religion" and these girls went on to write books when they themselves were eventually disfellowshipped also , escape by carrolyn jessop was one book and another was not without my sister by christina jones , they were brought up in the flds and children of god religion s that they thought were the "truth" and i hope she reads these books as she will be amazed at the similarities to the jw religion .

  i told her her brother would welcome her with welcome arms if she ever wants to be in his life again , its so sad , i feel helpless ..

  I have read both books and noticed the similarities also. Both books are great insights to the mindset. I too have a spouse that is distanced from his family due to inactivity. He is not disfellowshiped that we know of, but I'm sure it will be coming some day.

  last night, i went to my parents' house to wash clothes--or so i thought.

  apparently, someone's been talking.

  so...i get slammed for listening to people on the internet.

  Watchtower cleans out Kingdom Hall Library's ...

  last night i got a call from a chap in the uk, who recently left the jw's.

  he wanted to compare notes with his us counterparts.. he said that a few years ago, (i think about 2 years ago) the society cleaned out all the literature from every kingdom hall, particularly russell and rutherford books and anything prior to 1950. giving each hall a computer with the watchtower cd rom for them to use for research.

  he wanted to know if the same was done in the states.

  Rusell, It was actually Rusell. I think it was dated 1914? I'm contemplating going back to purchase for a bit of devil's advocate research for my active inlaws.

  I was at an antique store with a friend that is a witness. I found her pondering a book that was an original rutherford book. I was suprised to see the masonic emblams they deny all the time. She looked so pensive. It actually had a pyramid picture with graph explaining various levels of who knows what.

  Maybe something rattled the brain there for a bit.

  "Youth book" said 97% of teenagers Masturbate...but none of them are Witnesses! Is this unrealistic?

  "youth" book and "young people ask" admitts that 97% boys and 92% of girls masturbate but of course none of the holy decent witness teenagers would ever do such a thing and earn jehovahs anger!

  how realistic is this?

  97% of the world have t.v's or a telephone!

  Is the Harvest Inn (Patterson NY) owned by a Witness?

  i was looking at reviews on www.tripadvisor.com and saw that the harvest inn near patterson is highly rated (though clearly a lower end mo-tel).

  one writer even commented at how nice it is to wake up to kingdom melodies in the morning there.. .

  comments lead me to believe that the place is jw owned and primarily caters to visitors of the farms and bus tours of same.. .

  Texas Circuit Assemblies HELP!

  well, i thought i had dodged the bullet this year, but the almighty sis in law apparently called my hubby to invite him to the assemble again this year.

  he'd gotten an invite earlier this summer.. i had ironically just gotten of the phone with the mom in law, just to check in and see how everyone was doing.

  sounds like i was involved in a power play.

  Well, last year they stayed with us to go to one that was 1:45, other side of houston. That was around May/June last year, just seems pretty late in the year.

  Argh, I HATE THIS!!
