Old assholes are just young assholes who by some miracle weren't killed by anybody when they were younger. Respect is earned, not given. Someone who behaves like an ass doesn't deserve any respect.

Even old people need to be put in their place!
by LouBelle intoday, at a park restaurant, this old lady saw a young fat lady walking past and started making fun of her with her friends.
the fat young lady saw this and i could see the look of hurt on her face.
i couldn't help myself, i got up went to the old lady and told her she was being hurtful and childish considering her age, and she should grow up!

I have a catfish named Shithead. The other fish don't have names. I'd name them, but we don't have much to say to each other. The catfish and I have played lazer tag for about 8 years.

Most Awkward, Embarrassing, Comical things you Experienced as a Witness ?

some things we'd rather just forget , i'm sure, but some things helped us think on our feet, quickly in helping others .

I've had plenty of those experiences, but one that comes to mind right now is when I was around 18 - 19, I was doing the fade. My dad coerced me into going out in field circus. We came upon the house of a lady that I worked with on my job! Nobody where I worked had any clue that I was associated in any way with the JWs, and I liked it that way. Well, that field circus session blew all that for me! So, on Monday I had a lot of explaining at work. Thankfully, everybody understood what was going on, and it was all cool. God, it sucked being a JW.

What really is a Soul Mate? --- Is it possible Yes or No?

Generally, the term "soul mate" is something that people who watch too much Oprah & Doctor Phil use a lot. People who use this term in every day conversation are often so obsessive about finding their "soul mate", that they often overlook or dismiss people and/or relationships because they don't fit the mould of "soul mate" that they have formed in their minds. In the end, these people end up being bitter and unhappy because they can't find a person who lives up to their strict definition of soul mate. If the soul mate seeker finds someone that they deem worthy of "soul mate" status, that relationship is often strained because one or the other is trying too hard to live up to the hype of attaining or retaining soul mate status. Instead of being soul mates, they end up feeling like cell mates.
Just remember, if two people are exactly alike in every way and they agree on everything, then one of them isn't necessary.

Yep, I do, but not very often. My daughter is such a good kid, she doesn't really "require" a spanking. Usually, all I have to do is look at her a certain way and that's enough. I can probably count on one hand the number of times she's been spanked in 8 years of existence.

Ah Yes.... Her name is Nafiza Ziyad. She's becomming quite a celebrity here in metro Atlanta. She is a schitzo who went off her meds and had an "episode" on the train. Meds or no meds, somebody should have beat her ass for harrassing that old lady that way. MARTA has their own police who are supposed to patrol the busses and trains and their respective stations to protect its riders. Where were they??
This same girl pulled a similar stunt about a year ago and disappeared. She was eventually found, but ended up in jail and received probation for spitting in a police officer's face. So, she is still in jail, because this last episode was a violation of her probation. Well, the good thing about that is she won't be harrassing anybody on public transit for a while. :)

Even business class sucks when you're my size. 6'4" and 300 Lbs.... my knees wedge up against the seat in front of me and if you have a window seat, you have the fuselage of the plane up against your head and shoulder the entire flight. If you have the aisle seat, then the flight attendant tries to see how many times they can ram a loaded cart into your elbow. And, God help you if you get stuck in a center seat! I'd rather be strapped to the wing of the plane!

There are crazy women out there. Your husband knows she's crazy, you know she's crazy. Now, ignore her. Extenuating circumstances aside, your husband knew what he was doing when he did it. So did the woman he did it with. If it was a moment of weakness, then so be it. If you really want to repair your relationship, focusing on this crazy woman isn't going to work. She's not worth the emotional effort. Ignore her and focus on eachother. And, if she doesn't stop harrassing your husband or yourself, press charges. Call the police and ask for their advice. If their is something that they can do within the limitations of the law, then have them do it. It's not really that complicated.

What about those INTELLIGENT JW's? Did you have any in your cong'?
by nicolaou ini remember as a child being impressed by several older 'brothers' who were well educated and articulate.
we had guys with degrees and one had a ph.d in some branch of physics - a professor.
now you know as well as i do that that level of education was, and still is, mightily discouraged by the wt but these guys had managed it somehow.. as an impressionable kid it put 'the truth' on a more secure footing for me, after all if these intelligent men could believe .

Nicolaou, I've known a few intelligent witnesses. In fact, when I was a child, there was a witness who was (and still is) a famous doctor and nutritionist. I liked his talks, because they were very intelligent and he always took the discussion to the next level. He was one of the few people who could actually hold my attention while giving a talk. Of course, the elders always came down on him for not explicity following the outline or indroducing material that didn't come from WBTS publications.
I will say that I have noticed that it is rare to find many intelligent JWs. Most intelligent people leave the org, most likely because they are too smart and they've figured out that it's all a bunch of crap!
