I've found the Witness intolerance can be tolerated from a distance. I believe 100 miles is an effective minimum number.

Tolerating Intolerance
by hamilcarr inus jehovah's witness are reported to be least tolerant toward other beliefs and homosexuality.
muslims score much better.. some on this board have argued we should stand up to intolerant religions.. how far should we go in tolerating the intolerance, without becoming intolerant ourselves?.
or is intolerance part of the diversity that every modern civilzation needs?.

Questions on Assembly to help wife critically think
by insearchoftruth ingood afternoon,.
my wife is going to be attending the assembly in hampton, va this weekend and was wondering if there are any questions that i could ask her in advance to help her critically think about what is being said?.
it has been a while since she has attended either a meeting or a dc, so will be sort of like being hit anew with this stuff, but i think she has done a few bs with the pesky sister in the meanwhile, though she is being quite silent about it.. .

I believe it's better to have loved and lost than never to have lost at all.

One big announcement I heard about is that donation checks are now to be written to The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses instead of "Watch Tower".
There's still no food, still no saving seats, and still no Armageddon.
Two new books . . . what a surprise! -

What should upset you the most about high gas prices
by free2beme inyour paying so much in gas right now that it has brought out national economy to its knees, and yet the thing that should upset you this most is this .... the goverment is doing "nothing!".
not one bill has been passed, plan implemented or action taken.
all talk and no action, which is why our government needs to be fired and replaced or this country is done.. .

I guess I'm not bothered by the current policy of devaluing of the United States dollar. In a devaluing cycle the weakest and the underpriced commodities are always identified first. It's predictable and expected.
Energy costs haven't reached critical mass yet in my area. I'm expecting to see that when regular grade gas reaches $7 a gallon. It might be higher, it might be lower.
We're beginning to see interest in a change in demographics here but we're not seeing the change yet. The first change I usually notice in a devaluing cycle like this one is the migration of the commuters. Where it was cheaper to live in neighboring small towns and commute to jobs in urban areas, now it's not cheaper any more.
The commuters are hoping energy costs will return to previous lows. They won't. There will be a leveling off into the next stable period as John Nash's demonstrations showed us, and as happened after the last cycle, but there won't be a price rollback. When the commuters accept this and when wages don't increase to anywhere near offset the increased commuting costs, the demographics will change.
Business will change too. Import's won't be as competitive. Imports do and will cost more US dollars to buy, and transportation costs are going to stay higher to get them here. Regional business will get an advantage, and domestic manufacturing will have a more favorable environment to operate in.
People who resist change will struggle. They always have, and I'd guess maybe they always will. People who change will benefit from the opportunity. Look and see what need is being deferred and be ready. In the 40's and again in the late 70's building new housing was deferred and the 50's and the mid 80's through the 90's there was a housing construction boom.
In the 2000's the sub-prime lending allowed an artificial housing market. That's in correction. Apartments were overbuilt here and netted us a 10% vacancy rate.
Basically, people are stupid. They always make decisions like the way things are is the way they will stay. But history shows us things never stay the way they are. All of my mistakes in life have been connected to decisions I made to take actions that were not easily reversed. -

I'm still seasoning this decision. I am excited about the news that the box will add another remote. I may choose the box on tool appeal of the remote alone. Fondling the remote must be digital foreplay.

Hi everyone! im also a newbie here.
by dhand inhi everyone, thought it was time to say hi after nearly a year lurking on this site!!
abit about me... i was born into the jw's and have been baptised for about 15yrs and was appointed as an ms about a year ago.
i have been a die hard jw for the last few years, but because of the arrogant and unloving attitude of certain 'spirit appointed' men within the cong and circuit i began to wounder if what i had really was 'the truth' and caused me to do some digging on some of the fundamental teachings.

Howdy!
When a person commits to the Jehovah's Witnesses by taking a bath in public, that person entered into a contract with the Watch Tower Corporation that gave the corporation a first mortgage on the Witness' life/time. When the elders and other Witnesses come around, they are there to collect on the debt owed.
The Witness group isn't a religion, it's a separatist political action group functioning as a government called "The Theocracy". The Witness government has it's legislative branch, it's executive branch, and it's judicial branch. The local police are the elders. The chief of police is the circuit servant. The investigative committee is the court, and the judicial committee is the sentencing hearing.
The exile from family and "friends" is the psychological prison of the Theocracy. Shunning is a virtual execution substituted for a real execution that they wish they could carry out.
Adult Witness people are the worst people I've ever met in my life. -
