Reflections on the assembly - please help!!!!

good morning,.

one of the two district assemblies was this past weekend in hampton va and my wife was very excited to attend, but she only attended about 1.5 hours on friday and then i attended the morning session with her on saturday.

not sure how these number compare with past years, but about 5200 folks were in attendance (by their count) and it appeared that about 20 folks were going to be baptized.. here are couple of my thoughts on what i heard, i kept notes, but they were in my wife's binder, so was unable to grab them this morning.. most of the speakers i heard slammed higher education....and they tried to tie that back to the bible, that was sort of a reach if you ask me...wasn't luke involved with medicine in some way??.

I have two acquaintances. He drinks alcohol, she's hooked on Darvocet. She watches the alcohol mess him up but thinks she's fine, and he complains about her going to bed on a three day Darvocet high but he thinks he's fine.

He can't help her while he's drinking, but he won't stop, and she can't help him while she's high on prescription pain killers, but she won't give them up. Both of them depend on the other to not focus on their own delusions.

Neutrality Issue - How did the WT Society used to hide behind us...

the neutrality issue was one of the major issues that young brothers in many places in the world are facing.

some they died for that issue, some the spend many years in prisons, and as a result they are record is marked for being in prison.. in my country many brothers went to prison from 2-4 years, but the most outrageous thing that the wt did, it was to hide behind an 18 year old kids.

yeah the cowards running wt they didn't have the balls to stand next to us, and i will explain why:.

There is no "neutrality" issue, there's a "rebellion" issue. It's laughable to say the Watch Tower Corporation, doing business as Jehovah's Witnesses, is politically indifferent. They are a political organization by nature.

Saying they are "neutral" are weasel words. They're sure as heck not neutral in the Supreme Courts.

Add up the Watch Tower lies: We are neutral, we are not dogmatic, we are not controlling. The Witness political group is called "The Theocracy". Theocracy describes a political concept. There's Democracy, Communism, and Theocracy. Their name defines them as a political action group.

Why do they deny that which they fought to establish?

Hi delilah, This guy is my lesson in appreciation. He can play for hours with three sticks and he will show a cricket in a plastic bug box to everybody who will take time to look. He's as proud of that cricket as if he were a science explorer with a new discovery.

Hi lisavegas420, When I'm with this little guy I forget every single thing in my whole life that didn't work out my way. We have important things to do like watching spiders, digging for worms, and checking where the cat is napping.

Hi quietlyleaving, When I was younger I wondered what it would be like to be a grandfather. Nothing I imagined could have prepared me for this guy.

Hi Grace, Thanks for checking in. My maternal grandfather lived until I was 20. My parents and my brother and I lived with him and my grandmother for most of my 4th year. I still remember that year. That year was my only Christmas morning memory and my only birthday cake memory.

Howdy LouBelle, When my 4 sons were small I worked day and night to be sure they never knew what living in poverty was like. The cost to them was loss of much access to me. When they were older I took them one by one to work with me. They had their mowing and other jobs and I paid them well so they could learn that working gets them what they want. They are all successful adults, maybe in spite of me:-)

Hi Baba, Yeah! This is how it's all worked out. Not too bad huh? All that worry I did and this is what I got . . . sweet!

Right on wednesday, I have a policy of never saying no to this guy unless he might get hurt. I watch the same cartoon with him 5 times in a row, I get up from a nap to help him find the cat. His parents can teach him what no means. I'm gonna leave him great memories of a good grandpa. It's a gift I'm giving myself.

Hi lrkr, I think his good environment has more to do with his parent's good intellect than my influence. He has 5 birthday parties, 5 Christmas mornings, and 5 Easter egg hunts to remember when he's older.

Hi babygirl75, We both thank you. He's showing me his treat bag he stocked during a birthday scavenger hunt game. His parents are both very nice and he's inherited a full portion of that. He's never going to loose me, not for disagreeing with me, not for smoking, not for joining the military, not for going to prison, not if he's gay . . . nothing. He's not losing me.

i had read somewhere he had sent them away, but what was the reason?

with the society's emphasis on how important the family unit is, how is rutherfords case explained?

Thanks zeroday, Yes, his dad escaped the family Witness infection and his mother was not exposed to Witnesses.

You're welcome purps, My grandson calls me "Papa". He's extremely talented in linguistics. I expect he will be a great writer.

He starts all day kindergarten in a month. That'll be another rite of passage for me. It's been a great 5 years for me.

How would the Society give up 1914?

during the 1930's when the society was quietly moving jesus' presence from 1874 to 1914, it only seemed to ruffle a few feathers and most accepted this "brighter light.

Simple! Deny they ever taught it, and disfellowship anybody who doesn't agree that they never taught it, same as everything else they were wrong about.

High control groups don't need policies that make sense, they just have to be enforceable.
