Once I listed to an elder all the Watch Tower Society produced books I had read and his only comment was: "When'd ya have time to read all those?".
Hahahaha I thought that was funny as heck. -

I understand refusal of the sacraments by those in attendance is a primary component of a black mass. Many Christian people I know find it offensive. I find it boring.

Exodus Chapter 12
37 The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. 38 Many other people went up with them, as well as large droves of livestock, both flocks and herds.
Biggest Mathematical Miracle in the World
Moses and his people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them? They had to be fed, and fed is what he did, according to the Quartermaster General in the Army.
It is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each a mile long, would be required!
Besides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long just for one day.
And just think, they were forty years in transit.
And oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day, and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long, just to bring water!
And then another thing! They had to get across the Red Sea at night.
Now if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So, there had to be a space in the Red Sea, 3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.
But then, there is another problem.
Each time they camped at the end of the day, a campground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long...think of it! This space just for nightly camping. -

The article wrote: "Police would like to thank a good samaritan . . . "
SIDEBAR: Samaritans were apostates. Isn't it interesting that the apostates of Jewish legend end up to be synonymous with good doers?
My condolences to the friends and families of all involved. Very sad. -

August 1980 Kingdom Ministry about Apostasy & Franz resignation
by cabasilas ini was sorting some papers tonight and came across a copy of the august 1980 km which announced the "apostasy against the organization" (a letter from the governing body) and has the notification that raymond franz was no longer a member of the governing body and bethel family.
i remember reading this just as i was making plans to disassociate myself at the same time.
this copy of the km was in some papers that belonged to my mother-in-law (who passed away several years ago).

"don't worry everyone will get theirs at armagedon"
by milligal inthis was written in a letter to me from one of my active jw brothers (biological brother).
he was referencing the ex-husbands of myself and my other df'd sister, both of whom have been guilty of 'slipping under the radar' (an elder's words) by doing such silly things as getting arrested for spousal abuse and stealing a vehicle....they're both still in good standing.
i digress, let me say that i was shocked to hear from my brother.

The good thing about having Witness relatives is I always know who my enemies are. My enemies never contact me. They know better.

Hi amama2six
Thanks for the reply. I've come to the conclusion that, for me, it doesn't really matter what I believe, or know, or don't know . . . it's how I treat other people that's important. I have the pleasure of being able to benefit from a few years of experience. I benefit by remembering my failures, analyzing my successes and being able to identify the principles involved in both.
Basically, I've been able to sum it up with two pretty simple axioms. 1. What's never worked in the past, probably isn't gonna work in the future. 2. What's worked in the past, likely will work again.
I've been able to run a pretty successful life when I bother to remember those. I've had some really good teachers. Some, like Ayn Rand, were dead by the time I allowed them to teach me. Some were sages who sat with me and told me stories. Some were mystics who sat with me and watched sunsets. All are cherished.
I found out if I know something, I can't learn, so I go through life as a student in search of a master. Always when I'm teachable the master appears. I used to miss many masters because I thought people who used to pause and wait for me to sit with them didn't look like a master. They weren't the sex or race or age I expected. Then I had an experience that changed that.
My hardest lesson has been learning to accept rejection . . . with respect. It's hard enough to accept rejection but to accept rejection with respect is not a one person job for me. All together, that makes me a work in progress. But it's fun. It's fun to be free to make mistakes and fun to learn.
