I think when I tell people they will be re-created in a prefect replica body as a eunuch, that the world ended in 1914, and that the seven trumpets of Revelation were the seven Jehovah's Witness District assemblies from 1922 to 1928, starting with Cedar Point, Ohio and ending with Detroit, Michigan, they'd rather go to hell than continue the conversation.

Welcome! I quit unpaid volunteer work for the Watch Tower Corporation in 1974. I wasn't a believer any more but I continued to live a version of life under my Witness inculcated education from 1974 until 1992. I've become a rather prolific collector of Watch Tower Corporation produced religious fiction literature since I started my re-education path in 1992. I went back and read much of the Russell and Rutherford work. Then I made a line by line study of the Knorr era literature, like "Let God Be True". That was the gold standard when I was being educated by the Witness people.

Is it true? The WTS will not disfellowship anymore?
by heyfea ini'm sorry if i missed a discussion regarding this subject.. .
my mother-in-law is a jw (not a fanatic).
she goes to the meetings every now and then; she occasionally goes out preaching.

The Watch Tower is fun for me to watch. Every decision they make, I categorize the reason for the change . . . Is it a decision to benefit business? Or is it a religious decision concerning faith?
Most are obvious, like the voting policy. -

Witness 007 returns to wife and meetings..I give up! Sorry no choice!
by Witness 007 inmy wife's been having mental problems since hurting her back at work...we split for 8 weeks {her doing} then she rings me and says she "can't cope and is lonely" so i return {the drama continues} she seems more stable, sleeping all night...what a change!
her mood had become alittle more stable.
she found a part time job, and has not been dragged off by security like her last job...much improved though she dropped 10 kilos in weight.

I like my wife . . . but I'd rather have my teeth pulled through my ass than go to meetings.

motivations for creating the "Jonadabs"
by drew sagan ini know that shortly after rutherford dismissed the idea that the new covenant was only for the jews (as taught by russell) he eventually began to formulate his new doctrines of how he felt it did apply to people.
but i'm a little lost as to why exactly he chose to create this doctrine.. what were some of the deeper motiviations rutherford had in creating this doctrine?
i flipped through pentons book but he really doesn't get into it.

Schnell's first book laid out how the un-religious class was created and his second book laid out why it was done. Read em 1 then 2.

Is DISFELLOWSHIPPING being phased out?
by african GB Member ini have an elder friend who is 'open-minded', so to say...he tells me what gets discussed at elder meetings, even though he does'nt give too much detail.. he says that they were instructed by the society not to hurry df'ing publishers, that they should try to reproof (1 timothy 3: 16,17) a sinner,,..that they should be a little considerate bearingf in mind that we are living in critical times of the end.. .
personally i know a few publishers(baptized or not) who now have children out of wedlock, and they were just "marked" or had privileges taken away..... the reason given is: "they realised that they have sinned, and they are fully repented, they gave enough evidence to jc that they want to be known as jw's".
now my question is : are they slowly doing away with the df'ing doctrine?.

I've noticed in my lifetime of living among and watching Jehovah's Witnesses, that shunning and disfellowshipping are two different subjects. I've seen many disfellowshipped people not snubbed or shunned, and inversely, I've seen more than a few Jehovah's Witnesses who were not disassociated or disfellowshipped who were shunned and snubbed as if they were disassociated or disfellowshipped.
Many Jehovah's Witnesses that I know are mean people. It doesn't take much for them to turn on another member. Jehovah's Witnesses here have been trained to be mean. Basically they have two things to remember: (1.) Obey the governing body, and (2.) Be mean!
I was around Jehovah's Witnesses for so many years that when a non-Jehovah's Witnesses person was nice to me, I'd become uncomfortable. When I was a kid, whenever my mother was nice to me, all hell was about to break out. Jehovah's Witnesses were virtually never nice to me when I was a kid. I hated the service and meetings and the story books about ghosts and gods, but I was trapped.
Finally they broke me and I became institutionalized. I've been spending the last 35 years breaking that. -

This is a picture of the Kingdom Hall in Sioux Falls, built in the mid 50's, with a watch tower facade. In those days we lent money to the Watch Tower Society so they could build and buy buildings. That's been reversed. Those nickles and dimes we sent in really added up. -
