Why do you hate the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc
by PEC ini am starting the thread to provide a place for everyone tell their reasons for hating the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc.. first off i want to say, i do not hate jehovah's witnesses.
i hate the wtbts; because, they kill people with their lunatic blood policy and destroy families with shunning.. my mother at age 48, was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
the tumor could have been removed with surgery; but, that would have required blood so it didn't happen.

Hate a Watch who?
I slipped a corner of a Watchtower magazine page in the cat's food dish once and she licked her ass for a solid week trying to get the taste out of her mouth. -

It reminds me of when Henschel split up the Watch Tower Corporations and separated the governing body from the Watch Tower Society. He resigned as Watch Tower president, but didn't resign as a member of the governing body. Which job has most power? How?
The governing body is not legally associated with the Watch Tower Corporations. They don't represent Jehovah's Witnesses and they don't represent the Watch Tower Corporation. That makes the governing body an unrelated third party. If there's a legal tie, I'd like to see it.
The Jehovah's Witness people are forth parties with no legal connections at all. The Watch Tower Corporation refuses them standing as members in any of the over 100 pyramid of corporations under the Pennsylvania corporation. Many of the western kingdom halls are incorporated locally but they refuse to welcome individual Jehovah's Witness people as members as well. If you don't believe me, try to get membership in one of the corporations. It can't be done.
Most circuit riders I knew were incompetent. It'd be easy for me to eliminate their jobs. They could just re-establish a version of the old service director position that Rutherford used to oust the Bible Student elders. Of course that will fail just as it did before and in 20 years they will bring back the traveling sales managers. -

by minimus ini know some very sharp men and women that remain as jws and that perplexes me at times.
i even know of a jw whose daughter got molested by her jw ministerial servant uncle and she still believes this is the "truth", even though she took her family member to court and won!.
i don't get it..

Are You Surprised That Some "Intelligent" People Still Are Witnesses?I'm no more surprised that an intelligent person plays with Jehovah's Witnesses than I am that an intelligent person would go to Las Vegas to gamble, or that an intelligent person would smoke, or drink ethanol, or use mind altering drugs. Intelligent people don't have immunity to doing stupid things.
That was one of my hurdles when I challenged myself. I knew people I was pretty sure had a higher IQ than me who were true believing Jehovah's Witnesses. How could I see something they couldn't?
I came to the conclusion that intelligence has nothing to do with ethics, morals, or humanity. Actually intelligence can be used to the detriment of humanity. I bring up Adolf Hitler as an example . . . and Heinrich Himmler, and Rommel. These guys were unquestionably intelligent, but they used their intelligence to the dark side. I know many Witness men who did that. They were intelligent, but devious . . . not people I liked or trusted. -

Things The WATCHTOWER never taught you - How much do you need to retire?
by Nathan Natas ini'm going to weasel a bit on this and just say in opening that it is probably more than you think it is.. too many people imagine that social security is going to take care of them.
then they are shocked - shocked!
- to discover that the retirement dreams they had have evaporated.. for the benefit of others, what amount do you think is a reasonable amount to provide for your retirement, and how would that retirement egg be used?.

Yes, it seems to me the first item in a plan for a very comfortable old age plan is to buy a printing press and then develop the income into a multi-media publishing, travel, leasing, banking, insurance, event sponsoring, real estate development, construction business, in the context of a non-profit corporation.
For me, retirement is more of an issue of standard of living, and how long will I live? -

A younger than me guy I worked with in the 60's died two weeks ago. He must have smoked about 5 packs of cigarettes a day for about 50 years. He was 66.
Last week a guy I knew for years and used to ride motorcycles with, ended his life with a shotgun. He was 72.
This week a former brother-in-law finally left the Jehovah's Witnesses for good. He was 81. Memorial service is next week. -

The Issue of Christ as Mediator
by passwordprotected ini think i've hit on why the wts love to downplay christ's role as mediator.
it's not just so that they can have their two classes of christians.
they have to downplay this aspect of christ because it throws up the issue of his divinity.. who is christ mediating for?.

It is not a dispute.
Jesus is negotiating the terms and conditions of the Covenant arrangement. He is performing the same role with the New Covenant that Moses did with the Old Covenant.
Negotiations don't arise from agreement, the need for negotiations arise from dispute. What's disputed? Negotiations imply weakness, a willingness to compromise. What's Jesus willing to compromise?
A "covenant" is a contract. Why does god need a contract? What terms are being negotiated? Why do the terms need to be negotiated? Negotiations imply equality of principles. Who are the principles?
What are the conditions? Why are the conditions being negotiated?
Moses was a man. Jesus is a ghost. Why did god use a man and now is using a ghost?
