You wrote: "Wouldn't he just inspect the slave that he appointed back in 33 C.E., rather than all these counterfeit, wanna-be faithful and discreet slaves?"
Does this mean you don't belive that the seven trumpets of Revelation were the seven Jehovah's Witness District assemblies from 1922 to 1928, starting with Cedar Point, Ohio and ending with Detroit, Michigan?
It's required that all Jehovah's Witnesses believe the trumpet story but it's not required of them that they be able to explain how it could actually be a fact. Hmmmmm, wonder why . . .

If the FDS was appointed in 33 C.E., then why did Jesus inspect in 1918?
by Olin Moyles Ghost infirst, some background: when i first began to have doubts about whether the jw religion was "the truth," i performed quite a bit of research on the faithful and discreet slave doctrine...in the society's literature, of course.
like many of us, i had never really examined the doctrine.
well, needless to say (but i'll say it anyway), i found major flaws in the society's interpretation of the parable of the faithful and discreet slave.

Don't understand a WT teaching? It's probably not important anyway:
by easyreader1970 infrom august 1, 1980 wt:.
is some point we have trouble in understanding really important?
does it affect the truly important things we have learned with the help of the "slave" class?

I've taken Witness assumptions and guesses so far apart, thread by thread, that the Witness was standing there in their spiritual shorts and they still stuck to their fantasy like a 4 year old kid sticks to Santa Clause. One Witness said: "Even if it was all a lie, it's still the best way to live. I couldn't of had a better life.".
It's not about reasonable, or right, or even truth, it's about avoidance and comfort. That which I can deny, I don't have to deal with. Witnessism is more of a culture than a religion. It is a society, a society unto it's own, where success is failure, where smart is dumb, where the obvious is deniable by mutual agreement, and where the unqualified quickly rise to the top. Unbelievable is the norm and failure is proof of right. It's the ultimate inversion of intellect.
I'd much rather try to reason with a drunk than a believing Witness. -

Masters of Manipulation: Satan angrier than ever - book study consolidated
by truthseeker ini have spoken to a number of jws since the annoucement was made about the private book study group being eliminated from jan 2009.. .
the governing body were fully aware that writing "satan is angrier than ever" as the opening sentence of the letter, jehovah's witnesses would put 2 and 2 together and make 5.. .
they were counting on this.

They changed "generation" again and then next week they cancelled bookstudy. Guess what Witnesses are thinking and talking about?

Falling Asleep at Assemblies
by LouBelle inyes i have dozed off many times when i used to attend.
most of the time kept the shades on as we used to have outside assemblies.
the thing was not to slide off the chair, drop your head forward or snore.. i've seen some brothers/sister hitting a serious lean to the left or right as they slept and then they'd jerk awake, only to lean again.. some people had sneaky methods.

Right now I'm busy working on my new film about door to door solicitors. It's called Knockers. We're casting for the lead two characters and we're looking for someone who's qualifications will, you might say, stand out in a crowd.
