Hooray! Ah, glad to hear all worked out well for you. The musical selections you took in have a few I'd love to hear, too. Must have been a pleasure for you both.

Tears of Frustration, Laughter, Emotion & R...
by Englishman inwhat a day of mixed emotions yesterday turned out to be.. first off, i discovered that someone had bounced a sizable cheque on me.
1600 pounds to be precise, ouch.
her ladyship calmed me down and explained, as everywhere was closed on sunday, that there was nothing to be done until monday, so, big fella, put it from your mind!.

Personal Ads: What Not to Say
by COMF inliving in dallas, i've found that personals ads usually list an abundance of folks within reasonable traveling distance... i can turn up about 220 who have posted a picture, don't smoke, and live within 25 miles of me.
it's a great resource for a single guy who enjoys female company.
i've read many hundreds of personal ads.

Mike: she said, "practice monogamy or don't call". I understand that to mean you can't be seeing anyone but her, from the start. That's how she got quoted in this post... unrealistic expectations.

There are quite a number of robins who daily visit my yard. They're here in the morning and still, or again, in the evening. To my surprise, I learned that they just love the sprinklers in my yard. They will stand in the spray, hopping around to get more of it on them, and sometimes will fly into it or fly around in it. It's really a delight to watch. Sorry I don't have a video of it.
They're often joined by the swallows from the mud nest on my patio, a couple of bluejays, some blackbirds and sparrows, but the robins are the most numerous. A few days back I watched something I have only seen in cartoons and heard about in childrens' books: I saw a robin get hold of a worm and fight to pull him out of the ground. He would brace his feet and lean back, pulling with all his might. Finally he would release, drop the worm, get a fresh grip farther up his body, and start pulling again. This went on, I swear, for a good five minutes. The robin even stopped at one point to run a bluff on another robin who was getting too close. After chasing off the competition, he hurried back to the worm again and started up. I had never seen this for real, only heard about it.
Pictures of the robins at play in the sprinkler. There were about 15 in the yard at this time, but I couldn't get them all in the pictures.

What Is 'Normal' Behaviour? And How Do You ....
by Celtic inattain the definition of what 'normality' is?.
how can i define it?
does the answer fit within a box?
-
GatoCat
Hey, Celtic, did you maybe get a table saw for Christmas? No? Well dangit, son, pack up whatever you did get and sell it back to the store, and go get yourself a table saw and a book on what to do with it. You need a hobby, man!

a good message - any time of year
by teejay ini found this in my email box this morning... from an old friend.
thought i'd pass it on.... -------------------------------.
around the corner i have a friend,.
-
GatoCat
I agree, teejay, it's good to be reminded of the passage of time and the need to be active with our love. However...
And that's what we get and deserve in the end.
Again with the guilt. It is NOT what we DESERVE. It's simply what happens as a result of choices... choices that seem reasonable, logical, even necessary at the time. And if I call on old friends, or family, it will not be because of guilt. It will be out of love. Guilt just flat doesn't motivate me at all, these days.

Biography in profiles
by Simon inmany thanks to stephanus for getting this started and all the hard work putting together the 'whos who' site.. i've added an additional box to the profile page where you can enter a short biography (plain text - no formatting yet).
this is displayed when people click on your profile link (the 'membership card' icon under you poster name).
i will add a link to the member listing page to indicate people who have biographies with a link to display them.. let me know if you have any problems.

Simon, please define "brief." If I ever write mine, I don't think "brief" is going to be a fitting description.
