I bet the WT must be up there as the most discarded magazine too.

Disfellowshipping an 80 year old man, with brain cancer, for swearing!
by James_Slash inthis happened many years ago in my old congregation.. the man, who held the position of a ministerial servant for many years had not long lost his wife in death.. obviously, tensions and the general heartbreak of what happened to him lasted for sometime.
i remember going to see him once and he was extremely depressed.. however, his son had recently moved back in with him and they had started arguing.
his son grassed on him in to the elders that his father had sworn at him in a number of arguments and he was removed as a ms. the rest is history.

I remember an Elder in the same congregation telling me once that any wrongdoing could be a disfellowshipping offence - if repentance isn't shown.

No, he was disfellowshipped for swearing. His son dobbed him in, he admitted it but argued his case in the JC.
I think it was 18 months - 2 years before he was reinstated.

Another personal experience with current JW's
by James_Slash ini guess i am used to hearing the word "miserable" now with current jw's.. i have spoken to four within a week who all claim their existance with the wtbts is an unfulfilling one.. i had a friend many years ago who remains on the 'fringes' of the congregation.
yet, now i am out whenever he gets the chance he tries to preach to me.
yet, in the same breath he states how he enjoys going nightclubbing and holidays - with excessive amounts of alcohol (with all current jw's) and whilst away from the watchful eye of their parents, often meet (i won't say 'worldly' as that is a jw term - but) women who do not share the same beliefs that they claim to have yet they hold far much more in common then what they would care to know.

I had the same Coffee House Girl.
I had seen so much hypocrisy, changes in doctrine, scandal that I couldn't ignore it any longer. I have documented it here before but the way my ex-wifes family turned on me after our separation was the final straw. They all claim to be good-standing JW's.
Yet, I still had people telling me how staying close to Jehovah would get me through this. Then they proceeded to lecture me over my lack of freedom to meet anyone else and how marrying another sister would make me an adulterer. I remember thinking, I am not going to let this organisation control my life anymore.
If I can get just ONE JW to follow my path then my will on earth is done. The WTBTS are wolves in sheeps clothing. Evil, pure evil.

I remember he had not long been diagnosed with Brain Cancer before he was disfellowshipped.
He was reinstated a matter of weeks before he died. This was around 2006.
I remember hearing about it at the time and how the congregation were at each others throats. This was in the long list of a number of major problems.
Perhaps I'll save how the Pioneer Elder left his wife for their bible study and avoided disfellowshipping altogether for another time! ;)

This individual claims how miserable he is and how he wants to put more effort into the 'truth' because he is convinced that this will make him 'feel better'. He has been saying this for years but nothing really has changed.
Someone else I know has only just returned to the religion after being out of it since a young age and giving birth to a young son. She actually returned and got baptised. But because she has a child, none of these 'loving' Brothers will give her the time of day. But because of family pressures (all are JW, her Dad an Elder) she said she would find it hard to turn her back again and return to her previous life. She said to me that she is getting "nothing in return".
Another guy I know is a MS. He said he is being put under increasing pressure from a certain Elder who keeps questioning his every move with regard to missing a meeting because of work. He is also seeing an unbaptised publisher which is also putting at risk his rank as MS.
I find it sad that all of these people are miserable in such a loving, organisation for one reason or another. This is just scratching the surface and I'm sure others on here have similar experiences.

Not really.
Lets say that they slandered me and told lies to stop my son seeing his daughter and me seeing my granddaughter and I firstly wrote to them to resolve the issue. They said that I was harrassing them - even though I applied Matt 5.
I went to the Elders in protest. The Elders couldn't be bothered to deal with it so I wrote to Bethel.
During the meantime, the 'person' in question retracted their statement with the 'worldly authorities' yet the family continue to slander us to this day around the congregations.
The Bethel wrote back saying there was nothing they could do about it and it would be better for us to seek comfort in Jehovah and put all of our efforts into the preaching work. Only then would we feel better.
Obviously, the above is what my Mother would say about what happened to us as a family three years ago. She is still a JW - god knows why. This was the main crux of why I left. Could I really sit at a convention knowing how I'd been treated by these parasites?
F*ck them, f*ck all of them. I'm free...:-)

I have a story.
During my years as a JW in England, there were many council estate areas that we had to visit - often facing drunken or drugged up individuals.
However, there was one estate where we visited where there was an anti-JW activist who lived there. If he ever clocked the JW's in the area he would follow them and physically assault them. There were a number of JW's who lived on the same estate and because he knew them by face, he would still attack them if they visited the local store or video shop. I remember he was infamous. My Mom was working along with an Elder one day and he appeared out of nowhere and spat in his face. I know a couple of people ended up with blackeyes if he saw them out and about.
So what was this all about?
Well many years ago he was married. However, his wife left him on the grounds of Domestic Violence, divorced him, became a JW and married an Elder. I don't know if she actually got a 'scriptural' divorce but I'm sure because he wasn't a JW then I guess it doesn't matter as all worldly people are fornicators and adulterers.

What would Jesus Christ say if he returned today?
by James_Slash inthis was always one of the main justifications for me in leaving the wt behind.
i was just wondering how many of you have ever reasoned in the same way.. i have often wondered how jesus christ would react if he came back to the earth now and how he would view the organisation who claim to represent his standards?.
would jesus really want to be associated with paedophilia, false prophecies, shunning, the destruction of families, lies, untruths, hypocritical leaders and the lack of love amongst members?.

Despite the WT propaganda machine showing differently, most people on this website and even people in the org know that these magazines are lies and have mislead people for over 100 years.
Jesus said in Matthew 7:15 - "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in Sheeps clothing but inside they are ferocious wolves".
Who else could Jesus be talking about apart from the JW's?
