  Trust me, I have driven there, 80 mph puts you in the slow lane. You can drive there, just be careful, and aware. Italy is lovely and very fashionable.

  Driving in Italy is crazy, even The Germans worry, Greece is worse! If you do rent a car examine it carefully for dents and scrapes before you take it away. In France a car without any damage is new, no more than a day old. Tra.ins work well in Italy, and all of Europe I have been to

  Read Mao The Unknown Story by Jung Chang, it is a long and harrowing book, but is well worth reading and is so informative about how China has come to be what, and where it is today. Also worth reading is Wild Swans by the same author. Quite prescient reading especially in view of the fact that this week China and Taiwan signed important bilateral trade agreements this week.

  Mao used misogyny, homophobia, and anti education policies to control and divide.

  It is interesting to note that President Nixon began the rapprochement between the US and China, and that President Bush did not seem to understand how far and fast the power of China would grow.

  In the UK we had a similar debate when the leader of a very right wing ( for us ) party wanted to appear on a TV programme, in the end he appeared on it and was annihilated; mostly by himself, and by a little probing. His party was, up until that time, ascending and polarising many on both left and right, now it is in tatters.

  My point is free speech is indivisible, let this guy have his say, providing he is not saying or doing something illegal, if anybody from Islam wishes to get upset thier own intolerance will be manifest..

  He seems like a nutter to me, we gave up book burning long time ago, so should he.

  Hi Justita, I think LWT just just got my point in the above post in the explanation given by Kaplan. It is well known that Hezbollah are backed by Iran,and are therefore anathema to Israel, though Israel has won few friends in its neighbours with recent actions; and has alienated friendly nations to boot.

  I have some friends who are liberal Jews and some Orthodox, and thier opinions on many matters very widely, just as in Islam and Christianity. Netanyahu is widely seen as opportunistic, and not to be trusted.

  I agree with a lot what of you say Justita, and I see no one answered my observations. Successive US governments allowed The Irish to raise money for decades for terrorism, and part of the peace process their was there engagement in the process.
