I have just made ATTENDANT at Crenshaw Congregation
by BBOARD inin my hall (crenshaw congregation) virtually all the young men and women have left.
there is a extreme shortage of elders ... so i have just been made a kh attendant.
i will be assisting the backroom and in the parking lots (etc.).

Heads Up A New Hall Is Coming in Los Angeles - Amharic Congregation

well the new news around creshaw is that 6 of our brothers and sisters will be transfering to the new "amhari (ethopian) congregation" which will be near la high school.
this new hall will start with about 26 members.

Well the new news around Creshaw is that 6 of our brothers and sisters will be transfering to the new "Amhari (Ethopian) Congregation" which will be near LA High School.
This new hall will start with about 26 members. They hope to recruit more once they get up and running.
What makes me slightly pissed is that they are sending all our 18-24 "youth" (except 3) because by the book the elders believe that Jehovah loves to use the youth for his purpose (since we are still strong) ... and yes MR. D (the 40 year old unmarried virgin in my hall) has also volunteered to go with them! F'ing dumbass! He has a minimum wage job and STILL lives with his mom but he has time for the work of Jehovah and NOT his future ... WTF?!
ALSO - There was a private talk during the TMS about how Ethopian foriegers who just recently arrive to the US are "much easier at bringing the truth to." Those that are settled and make it here dont even bother - YAH! Seems that the borg is still at it trying to fill in new members with the naieve.
I for one will NOT be transfering out of Crenshaw to help anywhere the need is great. MANY elders have contacted me about it but I have so far doged it well. However, I will be stopping by there from time to time to check it out ... if any of you are there ... trust me you'll know me when you see me

Lack of hobbies and personal interests prompts some to pioneer
by truthseeker insome in my hall are bored.
they've either been laid off or they've taken a break from pioneering, whether its regular or auxiliary.. they have little in the way of personal pursuits or interests.. to fill this apparent lack of personal development and self fulfillment, they reason it is better to spend time in the ministry.. then when personal problems arise, they quit.
they can't keep up with the routine.. they get bored again and unfulfilled.

TRUE. I remeber some in my hall would ask around if it was ok to see a movie or go on vacation for a few days ... no get-up-and-go themselves. Like it has been said cults make cripples out of people.

How many of you feel you have had more material success AFTER leaving JW
by BBOARD inhow many of us since either mentally or physically leaving the witnesses have had more material success ... or any other kind of success that needed time ... the kind that was given back to you when you stopped attending jw meetings.
you see my mother has come down with a little flu over the past two weekends and this has in proxy allowed me to miss, already, 2 thursday /saturday (book study & field service)/ and sunday meeting.
in just these two short weeks i have had more time to go online and run my half.com small-time book business, study more for those tests, and live fun.

You see my mother has come down with a little flu over the past two weekends and this has in proxy allowed me to miss, already, 2 Thursday /Saturday (Book Study & Field Service)/ and Sunday meeting.
In just these two short weeks I have had more time to go online and run my half.com small-time book business, study more for those tests, and live fun.
... and YES my email box is already filling up with the "where are you" letters ... but only from those in the hall that know how to use the computer.

i say this because i have many of those in my congregation.
fyi it looks real bad to be a older man (ie 25 and up) scrub laying up at home unless you have a outstanding circumstance i.e.

Tired of the Hypocrisy's post got me thinking ... How many JW "kids" over the age when they should have left home still live with their parents. I say this because I have MANY of those in my congregation. FYI it looks REAL bad to be a older man (ie 25 and up) scrub laying up at home UNLESS you have a outstanding circumstance i.e. medical condition. For most in the US -24- is when parents can no longer claim you as a dependent. 23 is usually the approx. age at the latest when undergrads finish college. What age does the average dub without "ambitiion" leave the nest ... oh wait according to the June 2005 Awake "ambition" in this world is bad. My OWN Aunt told me last week "Moving out from your parents is something that those who want to out into the world do."
