Can't monitor morality. You just have to have a wait and see attitude. People will show their true colors eventually. Do you believe everything some new person tells you? I usually just be neutral until there is consistency.

Lies on Line...I always thought JWD was a forum for Honesty
by restrangled inafter finding this forum and being raised in the jw religion, i found jwd a refreshing place for honest feelings, fears, life experiences etc.. the history of the jw's was exposed, and those who lived any experience under this regime has been told by many members.. to be lied to by any forum member is insulting.
i have over my past year and 1/2 come to love many posters.
i realize many more have much longer time put in here.. i have been honest and exposed more of my self than i care to think about, but always kept in mind that others were doing the same and it was best for anyone new.. to lie on this forum to all of these members is horrible and i am questioning why i am so honest here.

Would You date a black man or black woman?
by Save My Soul inmy sister-in-law is recently divorced and went to a witness online dating site.
she mentioned that many of the witnesses specified that they wanted a white or latino only.
of course there is nothing wrong with this (personal preference), but i found it interesting.

Yes, I would. It is a scientific fact and each human no matter what color is genetically 99.9% identical. I'm trying to remember if there were any "inter-racial families" portrayed in publications. I bet not. I do have one big hang up....bad teeth. No way.

Witness came by the house this morning!
by mkr32208 ini was actually on this site when the doorbell rang.
i walked to the door and it's a nicely dressed black guy (single witness) and since the wife and kids are there i step outside.. he starts in with "do you think the world will get better.".

I never gave it a thought..good that I was. I lived in the Pacific NW and everything was "white", the school history was 99.9% white. The WT portrayed JC as White with Blue Eyes. Even the "great painters' painted angels, god, jesus, abraham etc as WHITE. I guess we were just mentally "set up" to accept the "normal" White American. I bet 99% of those Adventist explosion religions where that way. Ever see historical pictures of Black shakers, quakers, mormons (okay they didn't like blacks from day one) etc?

Just finished C of C last night
by dogisgod init took me a while to get thru this book and some of the print was really unclear to make out.
what struck me was the absolute mean spiritedness of the borg toward these brothers who gave their whole lives to the borg.
it also reinforces my experience that once they "make a decision" they will not be disuaded by biblical facts.

I would call this "avoid a lawsuit 101....$10,000.00 for TWO people giving their lives....pretty cheap. When these brother's were dfd were their wives included in the package?
I haven't really read the bible for a long time. I admire that RFranz can continue as I still have a bad taste in my mouth for religion in general. I still have many translations in the library but which one do you use? (I think I remember the JWs using the American Standard Version b4 the NWT.)

the doctor's did give him hemoglobin but i guess his blood count was too low.

What did you learn today?
by JH ini went to the dentist today and was told that i have to floss before i brush my teeth, not after...... i always brushed then i flossed afterwards, and was told that when you floss, you send bacteria on your teeth and that's why you have to floss first.. so, i learned something today...... .

I watched a documentary of the unionizing of the miners in the US. The miners were literally murdered by hired "detective agencies". They all got together and marched and they all wore red kerchiefs on their neck. That was where the term "Redneck" came from and in the beginning it ment an honest hardworking laborer that was fighting for their rights and a better working environment.

to avoid boring you all ( as if this isn't getting a bit redundant already ) i have edited bits and pieces of the best parts of her first e-mail , and his return e-mail, and her last e-mail after his reply so you can see what went down in conversation .

Jeez. Tell him to wait till after the holidays so he can have a ripping good time. I would say "quarterly" responses would be better for his mental health although I sure wish I had a son like him!!!

Does paradise still seem attractive to you?
by Hiddenwindow indo you think paradise, as depicted by the watchtower, an everlasting life praising jehovah and playing with what we now know as wild animals, not to mention cultivating a piece of land, is really a desirable place?
bear in mind that there is no reference to science and that personal goals are non-existent..

inkling, Here's the thing. Their lives NOW are being stolen. They aren't living in paradise but just waiting for it. It may or may not happen. It's like working 24/7 to make payments on something you're not sure of or how it's going to be.Just some idealistic drawings. Paradise is subjective. Some people love G Bush and some love the Taliban. The way it's presented it seems more like the Taliban (actually so does G. Bush) I definately do not want to wear a dress eternally.
