There was a really sweet petite sister who came to the Sunday meeting all bruised and beat up. I was astounded that the elders would not speak to her inactive husband. I was so mad that I drove over to their house and showed him my baseball bat and told him that if I ever saw her hurt again I would replicate her injuries on him. I don't know why no one called the police. They did end up divorced. We had a couple of really BIG elders he was a little shit so they could have left big impression. But nooooooooo.

How Would You Deal With A Bully?

recently there have been news reports of teenagers killing themselves because they couldn't take being bullied any longer.. i hate bullies.

i would feel horrible if my grandkids ever got bullied.. have you ever put a bully in his or her place?.

Had to stand up to a couple of bullies in Jr High. They'd been taunting me for several weeks and when they layed their hands on me it was all over. I had been telling my mom about the whole thing. When the "fight" happened. On theschool bus of all places and I went over the seat and started pounding into her stomach the bus driver stopped the bus and pulled me off of her. The next day my mom came to the principals office she told him that if he couldn't keep his kids in line she would do it for him. The "bully" was suspended for 3 days and became a good friend to me. That was the only time my mom really backed me up. She got beat up as a kid and her mom marched her over to the girls house and told her to walk in and not come out until she beat the girl up. She did and that was that. Bullies are just blustery cowards.

yes some have the identifying mark ....pink or blue.. but some dont.

What's Your View on Tipping?

typically, i give at least 20% on my total bill.

if the service or the waitress is especially charming, maybe more.. i wonder, when you sit at a bar/restaurant and have a meal and drinks and then order a take out ( i do this for my mother quite often) are you supposed to tip on everything, including the takeout??.

when i stay in a hotel, i typically leave 2 or 3 dollars per day for the maid.

If you tip in cash instead of putting it on a card then it is not "reportable" to the IRS. In Arizona servers get "servers wages" which is $2.00/hr-taxes, etc. Can you believe THAT? If it's a slow day you could earn $16.00/day-tax etc. Many states have that. My mom was a waitress at one time when I was growing up. I remember helping her count her tips when she would come home. We depended on those tips. I therefore tip to help them. In my travels most staff at the hotels and restaurants say europeans tip very little if ever.

i did it 20 years ago, but the elders still remember what i did, sometimes i wish they never knew about it.

OMG YES!!!! I was 19.They (especially one. BROTHER SELFRIGHTEOUS UPCHUCK) went to my parents (even though I was out of school and working/living on my own) and told them HIS version. I didn't know this for 25 years. Several years afterward the initial event one "kindly" elder showed my mother "notes" on the meeting. No notes were written while I was in the room. In my 50's my mother and and I finally talked about it and figured out the real truth of the matter. I was not disfellowshipped but was publically "reprooved" reprooved at the initial event. Then followed 25 yrs of misunderstanding with my mom. Notto mention loss of friends.
