I was baptized at six years old October 1944. So I asked my Mom not to long before she died why was I permitted to get baptized at so very young and her answer was because you wanted to. For years I had a memory of it being very cold and now I have no memory of it or where it took place. I am so glad I didn't foolishly rebaptize as some have done. What a sham.

as ive made it known on this board, my current status with the watchtower bible and tract society is that of inactive.
this is a loophole i have utilized, to keep an open channel of communication with family members in the organization.. i want to clarify with everyone: i do not hold any doctrinal ideas, theology, ideology, opinions expressed in any form by the wtbts.
therefore, to simply put, i do not believe in the wtbts in any way, shape, or form.
I want to bump this up for someone I know that would like to see this. It is such a great read and hope others have had success with this approach.
my personal impressions of michael jackson have only changed over the years because of his obsessions and because of the molestation accusations.
but michael was a real genius artist and a one-of-a-kind.
it's kind of a sad story, really, because all the time as a jehovah's witness i could see how he would be miserable - being brought to fame instantly, having to grow up without a childhood, and being haunted by that very deprivation the rest of his life... to the point of consuming him completely in seeking his lost childhood.
I googled Michael Jackson, philantropist and there is quite abit of information on his charitable works. One article said over his lifetime he has given 100 million. Another article said he was in the Guiness Book of World Records 2000 for the most charities (39) contributed to by a pop star. So I believe he was a very socially conscious performer. He contributed the 1.5 million he won in the law suit against Pepsi when he was burned making a commercial. It went to a burn center he started.
I believe he had many issues...physically and mentally that possibly resulted in his early death. I believe he was incredibly gifted.
i learned how to do this in 4th grade, but got rusty over the years.. a refresher course helped me to see that it really works!.
also, if you want to know if a number with 2 or more digits is divisible by 3, add the digits - which sum will be smaller - to see if the sum is divisible by 3.. sylvia.
I have a little paperback book by Isaac Asimov on math that I would be lost without. I have had it for a very long time (30yrs or more). He explained math so even I could understand. That was part of his genius explaining things so the average person could grasp mathematical problems. That little book always rescued me when having math problems at work. Also he did comparisons on measurements which always was a good reference source. I am moving and have it packed so cannot give the title.

I have no memory of it except the water was cold. I have some of my old publishers cards and there it is I was baptized one month before my sixth birthday. I know it is hard to believe. I have asked my mother why they let me and she said because I wanted to be baptized. She said I loved Jehovah. No-one has ever suggested that I do it again and thankfully I didn't do it before I got out. I had questioned several elders over the years about my baptism and they just didn't want to tell me what to do. I am successfully and happily faded now.
i'm of the opinion that all posters project an aura.. for some reason, dagney's and kudra's have crisscrossed.. has anyone else experienced that?.

Just had to respond to this subject. LOL.... I am Dagney's sister and have not gotten confused yet about who she is. There may be others I am confused about though...
we have this hounder in our hall who doesn't like people chewing gum in the hall.
now i can understand kids but come on..... so he gets up there a few weeks ago and says:.
"a brother told me that he was talking with a gb member, and the gb member said that chewing gum is rude".
Gum chewing could be much better than bad breath. Soooo nit picky.
i was adopted into a jw family in southern california.
my birth mother gave me up after 6 months (the terms mom & dad refer to my adoptive/real parents).
she gave me up due to the fact that she already had a three year old boy, and back in the late sixties it was not as socially acceptable to be a single mother.
