Has there been any other decade with as many JW changes as this one?
by truthseeker inwith the housing bubble bursting in the us and other countries, the credit crunch and massive levels of debt, some economists are saying that our time is similar to 1929 and the great depression of the 30s.. in wt land, never have there been so many changes in this decade, the 21st century, since the 1910s when russell died and rutherford changed everything within the current religion.. where things seem to carry for years with no change, suddenly there's something new almost every month.
this year for example has seen the move to one awake magazine a month, next year there will be a public wt and a private study wt edition.
the 1935 cutoff date has been removed and the generation teaching updated again.

A Nice Welcome For All Our Newbie Friends- Seems They are Increasing !
by flipper inhello friends .
is it me or do the rest of you notice a tremendous increase in newbies in the last couple of months ?
what a cool thing to know that these dear new friends of ours have a place to turn to for help, venting, posting their feelings on life and what they have been through and are going through in regards to anything in life.

Not knowing if you still believe in the Bible...
Matthew 18: 21-22 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times? Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: But until seventy times seven.
Much easier said than done, I agree. Still a good thought to keep on the back burner:-)

I took Kundalini Yoga classes and did daily meditation for some 3 years. I also did Reiki. But this all changed when I started studying with the JWs. My study conductor was feeding me {and still does} litterature like there is no tomorrow. But I now know without the shadow of a doubt that this is not getting me anywhere. And I need to 'readjust' my main focus:-)
We are similar in so many ways. I watch very little tv. And I don't want anything to do with daily world news. I also try to be very present in the 'now' in whatever I do. So yes, daily life becomes a meditation on its own.
Have a peaceful and calm day, Jeanette. You know what??? Deep down, life is good*

My aunt
by coffee_black inmy 85 year old aunt, who has worked every day up until 2 weeks ago is very ill. she has been losing weight for about 6 months, (without trying) but for the past month it has really accelerated.
my cousin finally got her to go to the doctor , and there will be lots of tests to find the cause.
she had lung cancer 12 years ago and has had a clean bill of health ever since... until now.

Help needed: your experiences of the internet and JWism
by ppunk ini am hoping some of you will find a few moments of time to reply to this request for help.
i am researching the impact of the internet on people's journey out of jwism.
i invite everyone to write anything from a sentence to a couple of paragraphs (or more, if desired) relating how the internet has affected your exit.

My experience is nothing compared to most people here. In my case, I only have a weekly book study with the JWs and I attend the weekly book study as well. I have never been to the KH so far. Needless to say, I am not baptised.
My study conductor always encouraged me to voice my doubts. But it did not take long to realise that my doubts were always answered via JW litterature or their famous CD library. It did not sit well with me. And when I was subtly approached with suggestions of baptism, I figured that such a life changing step needed more "independant" research. And I ended up on the internet. I mentioned my internet researches to my study conducter and I could tell she was not pleased. And I thought "Listen, this is a most important step I am about to take here...and I will do my search as I see fit!"
In a nutshell...I can now honestly say the internet saved my life. Because I was just about ripe to take a terrible step on a very wrong path:-(
