two years ago (june 21) i lost my older brother after a long struggle with alcohol/depression.. i've put off making an 'announcement' about his passing for a long time now, as i don't really like.
posting personal information on this board.
but, i continue to hear from people just finding out .
I miss him a lot
Sorry for your loss

this is a stupid story if it is a story at all..... quentin and i decided we'd go to the district convention since it is right here in our home town.. why?.
oh, curiousity.
a desire to find my old prison buddies.
Like I said, not much of a story....
You call that "not much of a story"???
You are right...it is no way to treat a human being.
I also thought those meetings were open to the public. Apparently not.
Only cult members in good standing are welcome.
i was hungry for soup and hungry for carbs so i made a quick soup and it turned out so well (bragging here) i wrote the recipe down.
hardly a recipe in fact, so easy, but i want to be able to do it again.
here it is: vegetable soup with german dumplings 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour 1/2 cup of egg substitute (or you could use two eggs) 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon grated parmesan 1 tablespoon of oil 4-6 cups chicken broth 1 pound frozen mixed vegetablesput chicken broth and mixed vegetables in a wide pot and bring to a boil.
Casper...
Yes indeed, can't get any easier than this!
A much favourite quick lunch on cold and 'lazy' winter days

A super easy concoction for those who happen to love cabbage soup...
Just bring chicken or vegetable broth to the simmering point.
Then add any amount of coleslaw mix {usually a mixed bag of shredded cabbage & carrots}
Simmer only a few minutes, and voilà...instant cabbage soup.

What I mean is that I feel more comfortable being with Black people. Am I making sense?
Yes it does make sense, Sylvia.
One can have preferences and still be fair.

Yes, ma'am.
Since bias means a leaning toward or a preference, I assert that we all prefer certain people over others.
snowbird...
I apologize for being french and failing to grasp the exact meaning of the word "bias". But...
Unfortunately, the words bias, prejudice, discrimination, racism, all get jumbled up and lose their nuances
And to be honest, I do not necessarily prefer white french people. Perhaps it is just me...
having taken a long break from jwd, from personal circumstances not with any frustration or conflict here, and now spending a few days focused at jwd, it's great to come back.. the same issues are being posted, new posters with same problems, concerns, heartbreaks, eyes opened, just beginning to have their doubts confirmed.....how wonderful.
with loving and caring people to help out.. i wanted to respond to journey-on's thread earlier but wanted to collect my thoughts and now it is locked.. the internet, cyberworld, discussions boards are a tricky thing.
we (i think esp the people that come here) are very passionate about what we do here.

Very well said, and covering pretty much all angles.
Once in a while, a gentle reminder doesn't hurt
Welcome back~
that is it - i want to share my life, my beliefs, my body with someone who'll love me for me.. and that is all i have to say on the matter..
Who knows? Love may just find YOU when you least expect it~
