Hmm,
Very interesting. I wonder what they have to back this up.
i was wondering if this was being taught in the congregations.
my sister who is still a jw told me this the other day when i said that the wtbts has only been around for a short time, relatively speaking.. my mother, who hasn't been to a meeting in years, agrees with her.
what is being taught now with regards to this, does anyone know?

i was just wondering.
is there some sort of doctrine, or belief, principle, rule or whatever, that says that jehovah's witnesses, when asked, must confirm that they're jehovah's witnesses?
(one possible basis for such a rule, that comes to mind, is the bit about peter denying jesus three times before the cock crowed.).
If you truly believe what they teach, why wouldn't you be proud that you were recognized as living up to the standards they set?
When I was "in", I would have been honest about it.
So glad I don't have to even think about it anymore. ;)

I would really like to know, just to be able to discuss this with accuracy.
Thanks.
knock, knock,knock.
a 15 yr old boy opened the door..."yes?".
"are u anthony?".
Hugs to you. spiritboi,
It is very frustrating, isn't it? We do something in good faith, but in our ignorance, we are taken advantage of.
Life does go on and, thankfully, it gets better with time. Otherwise... I probably would have been in lots of trouble.
It's good to have a place to vent, though. It helps tremendously that there are others who have been there and understand.
in your first committee meeting did you come clean or hold out as long as you could before you realized they had the goods on you?.
I was 16 at the time and I was so brainwashed at that time that I ASKED for the JCM! Noone even knew what I had done, but I felt so guilty and paranoid that I told on myself.
What a doofus I was.
i was just listening to the fifth dimension's 60s song "aquarius".
i remember witnesses loving that songf and actually swubstituting "aquarius" with "asparagus"!
you see, then it was ok to sing.
Yeah, my family always had what we called "family day", all the cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. would get together and unload TONS of gifts on everyone. All wrapped and everything. I always took it to mean that we were making up for missing out on all the other holidays. Go figure...
And we also had a turkey day, always a day or two before or after the real one. LOL.
What a joke.
hi, posting on another thread, i asked this question.
i would like to know - what do they do with the 'old light' books?
does it not occur to them that they have a pile of books that they are not allowed to read?
Hmm... that should have read...they are a huge PART of my life. And, did I mention that I am not your average JW. As a matter of fact, I am no longer a JW.

Personally... bonfire.
And I must add that I adore books. They are a huge my life, but the ones that are patently false...bonfire.
No, I am not kidding.
relatives can be a problem.
at least in the eyes of the wt society, relatives are a threat to the mind control tactics they employ on their slaves.. the thing is, relatives may well love their relations who have unfortunately become trapped in the watchtower lies and so may try to reason, help, rescue and perhaps even get cross when trying to release their loved ones who continue to be ensnared in the watchtower trap!.
i noticed in the last two watchtowers that relatives are mentioned specifically and wondered how far the road of isolationism of their members the watchtower is now willing to go in warning their members against those who may try to help them.. december 15th watchtower, page 22 para 8:.
Good for you, primitivegenius!
I agree with you.
elders are very busy before and after the meetings.
they have many parts during the ministry school.
they have elder meetings after the meetings are over.
Wow, I feel left out!
I have been missing meetings for 20 years now, and I have NEVER gotten a call from anyone. LOL
