ok so this will be the first xmas i have ever celbrated, i have no idea what to do, my man and his family are really into it and have traditions they have always kept to, and i love my new family and being involved in it all, but i havent a clue where to start!
who to buy what for, how much do i spend?
what cards do i buy?
BB, it's our family's first Christmas too. My kids are 12, 9 and 2. I am so excited to start our own family's traditions. I was raised a JW so never had a Christmas before. My sister-in-law and her family have been helping me firgure it all out. The best advice she gave me is this: Let it be a chance to show those you love just how much they mean to you, whether that means a specific gift or not. And start your own traditions, they like to all watch movies all of Christmas Eve. Silly but they are a really close family. Her oldest still lives there with his wife and daughter, her second and her fiance are there every weekend, and the other two won't leave either. I figure she's doing something right.

hi,i have just registered here because i need someone to talk to in a way that wont end me up before a jc.i have been reading a lot of stuff recently about the wts being false prophets and the like.i also hate the fact that there are so called "spiritual" men out there who abuse their positions to molest children.i have been a witness now for 20yrs but instead of feeling spiritually alive i feel totally and utterly confused.i do not know which way to turn.anyone out there who feels the same ?

Welcome, I'm new here too. I was raised in the "truth", and had been trying to raise my three kids (12,9 and 2) that way too. Alone, my husband figured it all out a while ago. I have been failing miserably, according to them. We were lucky to make it to Sunday. I decided just last month to no longer be a WT slave, or to try to make my kids slaves too. It's sad, the biggest obstacle I'm facing with them is they think they will die in Armageddon because we aren't going to meetings. I never told them that, the meetings did. I have found tons of help and advice here, just by looking at old threads. And you can be honest here with your feelings and fears. I have a feeling no one here will be shocked or offended.
Please tell everyone how to help.

It's funny, when the 1995 "light" was turned on, I didn't even really think about it. Being raised a witness I was never allowed to question anything, and I think that steeped into understanding their doctrine. I have become amazed at thinking how so many people follow blindly. I did this with the huge change on blood transfusions. I did a blanket refusal on all products bcause it was easier(safer). In 2001 I nearly died a ruptured ectopic pregnancy until a sister talked me into the EPO shot. This year doing research I discovered you can have all the ingredients but no the "cake". And I nearly died for this.
All these changes they make are now just added confirmation I did the right thing getting me and my kids out.

I never thought of the fact that there will always be some claiming to be annointed. Good point. While they may be using stalling tactics, my mom told my sister that means the ends is coming anyday, hurry back to the "truth".
