Trick or Treat anyone?
by lovelylil inis there anyone on the board who is celebrating halloween for the first time this year?.
this is my 2nd halloween i am doing since leaving the borg (almost 4 years ago now), but it is the first time i am decorating the outside of my home as well as giving out candy.
i hope some jdubs come by and work my street during the halloween season.

My 33 yr old husband is going to party as Ozzy Osbourne. I tried for a pirate but no luck.
If you are part of a couple there are always the plug and socket, lock and key, ketchup and mustard themes.
Hubby is manning the house with his two drinking buddies, in charge of candy distribution. I thought tooth brushes would be a nice change.

Yes please emphasize the changes that have been made in policy. I nearly died and left two kids because of not understanding. Fortunately an elders wife explained about the EPO shot. I was told I would not survive surgery and was in a medicine induced "coma" after surgery, for 8 days in CCU. On day 6 they started the round of shots and within a week was good as new. Except for the fact that I had also lost a child. But all the brothers focused on was my firm stand. Finding out the truth about the fractions being "allowed" started my path away from WTS.
Witnesses do not have to die and maybe your talk can help save some.
My sister used the illustration: you can have the flour, butter, sugar, etc. but NOT the cake. Very simply put.

My family decided to celebrate this year, our first. But we drew the line with the really violent costumes. They are having tons of fun dressing up and being someone different.
My 12 yr old girl is a flapper, 9 yr old girl is a hippie and my 2 yr old son is Diego.
We are even trick or treating and we have orange lights and jack o' lanterns on the porch.
Course, the brothers don't know yet that we are leaving, so much for fading away!
PS after trick or treating we are going to have a bonfire and sacrifice the family pets.

Children at the meetings, how did you cope
by Mrs Smith inmy son was about 5 years old when we stopped going to the meetings.
the other day i asked him what he remembers about them (his now 14 years old).
he remembered the puzzles i bought him to play with during the meetings.. he remembered that i packed a sandwich and some juice for him to eat in case he got hungry.. when he got board i use to take him outside for a walk around the kh garden.

For nearly 9 years I have taken the kids by myself. When it was just the girls it was fairly easy. If they were restless we would go outside or in the second school. There a few others in there too and we would visit. But I had a son 2 years ago in July and that all changed. We moved to a new hall with over 70 kids under 18. There is always a low level of noise but no one seemed to mind. I was glad he wasn't the only one screaming. It got very difficult to wrestle with him and he is very outspoken. There was no mothers room, just two chairs in the restroom. I did smack, but never again. It is too hard for them to sit and be quiet for such a long time. Snacks and such were very frowned upon as were toys and "worldly" story books. So for the last 2 years I have gotten nothing out of meetings.
We don't go anymore, just since the past month. I must say it is a relief.

That's the one. My 12 year old saw it and I was able to explain how they are trained to speak out both sides of their mouths.
Unfortunately my mom does blindly follow. I wish I could change that.
The movie brought tears to my eyes too, but I always tear up when I vomit.
