College problems for daughter

i need electronic copies of anything in the watchtower or anything else speaking against college and higher education, preferably from the october 15 2005 wt and onward.

my bright, intelligent 17-year-old daughter just informed me that she's decided against going to college because of all the garbage her kingdumb hall has told her.

her mother started up going to jw about 4 years ago, and i guess i wasn't watching what they were doing to my daughter closely enough (but then, they don't want you to).

Good luck. I hope you can convince her to go. The world really doesn't need another poor pioneer to help support. My husband and I both were discouraged from going to college, we got married instead. GREAT idea. But it has worked out. Only because of hard work my husband now makes a good living and we have a beautiful home for our 3 kids. Come to think of it though, he only started making good money AFTER he left the Watchtower. Hmmm...interesting.

New Generation Understanding

hello everyone, i am new here and newly freed from the snare of wtbs.

my sister, also newly freed, said our mom told her at the annual meeting there was a new "understanding" on the generation confusion.

it is now the annointed that will not pass away.. has anyone else heard this?

Thanks for all the welcomes. I really do love it here and I am glad I found you all, well most of you. OBVES is still a little nuts to me.

I'm sure most of you know my story, I'm a big mouth. But I pretty much just left last month. I guess I'd been fading for a while without realizing it. My husband left the borg 8 yrs ago. We have 3 kids. My sister left too and is lesbian. My dad is dead going on 13 yrs. My brother never got baptized and lives in NYC. Our mom is still strong JW but we're all praying!

Thanks again for how you have welcomed me into your world, especially since I've learned about trolls.

My teenage and older neices and nephews think so. We've taken each of them out for their 21st on a bus. They like that I can shoot whiskey like it's water and dance to their music. They have all said we would much rather go out with you guys than our own friends. I tell them it's because we're old enough to not give a f*** what people think about us. We went to their house for their Halloween party and before long lights were off and music was blaring, with their Uncle as the DJ. And I made really gross treats. They said we made the party, how 'bout that. Our first time out.

Now to my kids I am crazy, but they always want me to fix problems at school because I'm meaner than their Dad.

I will never be, however, cooler than my husband. That's according to all the above mentioned kids. He rides a Harley, looks scary, and is friends with some cool rock stars. It doesn't hurt when he can get them backstage at shows. He is who he is and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it. That's pretty cool to me.

A Party For The Elders

at the risk of outing myself and my hubby, i just had to run this by everyone to see if it was just me.... last night i attended a function that the women of hubby's hell put together to honor their boe.

there was much food and they put the guys up on a stage and played "name that elder" and then interviewed each one.

the mc of the event gave deep commentary regarding his feelings of each of the elders.. i thought the elders weren't special...that they were just regular joes with more responsibility...certainly not guys that should be lauded for doing what they have been given the "priviledge" of doing.... am i wrong?.
