My personall feeling about the issue on child classes or child cair during meatings is this.
The WTBTS has on countless occasions over countless years talked about teaching the pliable minds of the young.
As there teaching skills are based almost solely on mind controll it seams to me that sensory deprovation with intermitent beatings is used all over the world as a major form of mind controll.

I used to be beaten like this all the time. All it did was make me more angry and disruptive, it also stopped hurting.
At this point all the J/W's that were around at the time became "APOSTATES" as they all lost faith in me.
My arse dousnt hurt any more, but it wore soething out inside my chest.

websters new world dictionary defines apostate as one who have abandoned their faith.
that definition does not describe me.
I have always refused the tab of "Apostate".
They lost faith in me before i lost faith in them.
At the time i was 15 and wasnt allowed to declair my faith any way so the name "APOSTATE" seems to be yet another false doctrine of the WTBTS...
my son (who's 15) came home from the meeting last night (he thinks he wants to be a witness, but that's in another thread) and said that his grandmother (my mother-in-law) told him my reason for not going to meetings (the un thing, also discussed in another thread).
he told me that i need to talk to the po about it as he had heard about it a while back and has some information.. hmmmm, me thinks the mom-in-law has been talking to the po about what i told her last week.
i'm sure that i will be getting a shepherding call (a drop-by, unscheduled visit) by him this weekend.
When the issue of the WT's involvement with the UN comes up. Ask the elders this, "If i sold my soul to the devil so that i could be a good jehovah's witness, would i be D'F'd?"
When they answer "Yes, most definately."
Say to them, "But isnt that what WTBTS has done?"
When they start tieing them selves in knots start mentioning some of the facts above. you can bet your bottom dollar that the "society"
hasnt informed them of all the information that is there. They should leave shortly after this point to seek more advise.
This advise is only advisable if you are ready to be D'F'd by the way.

i just want to get back to some basics here, this post is not meant to take the mickey.. i am of the opinion that the above-mentioned phrase is something that jw's absorb into their sub-conscious minds over a long period of time, with the end result that they actually do believe that jehovah does indeed operate through this organisation.. can someone please take me step by step through this essential belief of jw's, right from when the idea of an earthly org was first mooted.
i can't find any scriptural backing for this belief at all, not one tiny bit.
even if i really stretch and link isolated scriptures there just does not seem to be any basis for belief here at all.
ive found numourous acounts of charles taze russell's belief that he was the sole channel of comunication between god and man and numourous acounts of him referring to himself as "gods mouthpiece".
There is also quite alot of information revolving around spiritism in the early days of the WTBTS wich would also go some way to acount for the belief that god speeks through them alone.
I also found last night some info about a court case aganst WTBTS in which jehovah was refured to as being the "editor" of the WTBTS's publications but ive lost the link. If i find it ill post it in this thread and you can read it for your self.

if revenues for brooklyn bethel per year alone are equivalent to 951 million dollars, then this is about 158.5 per witness(given six million witnesses).. there's more money than that coming in worldwide, because of the other bethels in the world.. .

Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Britain (formerly known as Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania [The])has £28.8mil invested with there charities section.
They also state that WTBTS of Britain has a total income of £24.4 mil
and total funds of £22.6mil.
Also through this department is Dudley Assembly Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses. they are sead to have an income of £0.24mil.
This company only operates for UK charities wich in some way would account for the WTBTS pf Pennsylvania, now being known as WTBTS of Britain.
when i get more info i will post it.

let me explain.. firstly i have seen any number of so-called attempted suicides.
i've walked past an old girl friends house, seen her watching tv through the window, by the time i'm knocking on the door she's told me that she had her head in the gas oven and my knock stopped her.. my mother in law walks into the sea for a pastime.
every time she can't get her own way she walks in up to her knees and waits for someone to see her.

If someone is even thinking of suicide then they are verry depressed.
Telling them to "go do it" isnt exactly going to help them much. Even a cry for help is a cry for help and in my opinion should be treated as such.
A freand of mine once turned round to another freand and sead he just fancied throwing himself off the multi story car-park oposite.
The reply he got was " go on then."
So he walked out of the pub with ppl watching and laughing at him and promtly chucked himself off of the top.
fortunately he survived and he is glad he did, but he has left himself with deteriarating problems that will carry on for the rest of his life.
The ppl who stood and laughed and especially the guy who told him to do it still find it hard to sleep at night and this is more than ten yrs on.
If any one ever says to you they feel like ending it all, for gods sake find another answer than "go do it then".
