  I like that name.

  I struggle with some of the same issues, even to the fact that it creates inaction. (It's Fri night, and I should be out socializing and dating, but I'm at this keyboard).

  Many great posts. As many Non-JW's struggle with relatonship issues.

  An inactive friend of mine is seriously contemplating marrying a JW. I used to frown on that, but now I say "Go For it."

  I was at a JW function a few months ago, and my allure and sexual attraction to the "pioneer" sister was evident to me.

  I was raised a JW from birth. I"m a Black male, on the East Coast USA, in my 40's.

  The moment I knew it was crap....

  already had doubts from the time i got pubes... but i was about 15 and we were studying the revelation "book" for the upteenth time.

  i realized for every actual bible verse they qouted there was 2-3 paragraphs of conjecture, assumption, faulty logic and just plain stupidity.

  that's when i began to plan my escape.

  Raised a Witness from birth...

  I believed it was the truth. Lock..Stock..and Barrel.

  I pushed the doubts back for many years. (...or thinking the "new light" will clear up my doubts).

  I did not doubt the Revelation book. I wanted to understand and master it's concepts.

  I have not donated.

  It could be a hold over from the JW upbringing, but I go to casinos and I look forward to voting, so I don't think so.

  So it could be the fear of needles.

  Back. and seeking ideas for screwing over the memorial

  ok. me and friends are going to attend a memorial on 30 march.. what would be the best way to get our message across?.

  should we just throw a hundred flyers into the hall in the middle of the memorial?.

  should we drink the wine and eat all the bread and then stand up and say something?.

  Many are still dealing with the anger over lost time...

  This board, and this thread offers great ideas on how we can be of assistance.

  That makes sense, our time is valuable.

  Let's focus our energies on positive pursuits, when dealing with JW issues, EX-JW issues, and Non-Jw issues.

  Great discussion. Great ideas. Everyone is concerned. I agree with Open Mind, go at your own pace. Only you are there in person.

  Also, I agree with Ms. Jones5. My Mom is in a similar boat, loosing her JW friends would crush her. She is a senior citizen.

  I met Steve Hassan, the author of Combatting Cult Mind Control" about 15 years ago. And in his book he said that 5% of the people in a cult, are better off in the cult than outside of it. As a Black U.S. born American, I think in the urban community I'm from, it may be higher than 5%.

  Not the net. Library books. I actually researched "Books In Print" topic of Jehovah's Witness

  Then Crisis Of Conscience, recieved it on the last day of Summer School in Atlanta GA around 1987, in a very strange fashion. I cried for days...and weeks. I was raised a JW from birth.

  Brother "Prince" not happy with "Black eyed peas" swearing at his house! Praise JAH!!

  so i heard an interview with the "black eyed peas" who mention they jammed with prince at his home recently, only to have one excited member yell to prince....."your the sh#t man!

  " well how would a witness react to that????

  a staff member later told them prince did not like swearing in his house.
