1. the elder i was in a bissness with decided a hand shake was not a contract, and paid me $500 dollars instead of the $3,000 he should have....i felt so stupid, but quit with him and treated him like a disfellowshiped person since....also he would pay me half a days wage when i worked from 8am till 3pm ???????

I told her that it was not a good idea to do this as it is viewed as apostasy by the society and could damage her faith. That's genius. There's not a dub alive that wouldn't think, "Doubt my faith do you? We'll see about that! I'm so gonna watch these apostate videos now!"

over the years there have been a few news stories about some "crazed" jw man or woman that kills their family because they don't want them to be destroyed at armageddon..

wts teaching is that anyone who dies in this system, if not irredeemably evil (hitler), will be resurrected in the new system.

wts teaching is also that those who are not evil but merely indifferent, disfellowshipped, children having unbelieving parents, etc., will be destroyed very soon, and that this destruction is permanent, with no hope of resurrection..

metaspy: I think the reason most don't do it, is the consequences. Sure, you give your relatives (or whomever you kill) a good chance of living forever, but you give up your own shot at it.

Sacrificing yourself for your friends is the greatest love of all according to Jesus. Heh.

Since this is the case, it is in fact the greatest act of love to kill one's loved ones NOW, assuring them of a resurrection and absolutely preventing them from destruction at Armageddon.

Why don't more JWs take this obvious, foolproof route to protecting the eternal lives of their loved ones? I say that deep down at the subconscious level, most of them don't really believe it.

Natural disasters- Does permission equal causation?

does an omniscient god's permission of the loss of human life due to natural disasters imply some sort of negligence?.

if god possesses the power to prevent suffering, but chooses not to, what reasonable explanation can be offered?
