EmptyInside, I kind of relate to what you are writing and your screenname. I used to be a fourth gen JW and a turning point was when I tried to preach to an Evangelical and he told me about Ray Franz. Firstly, I read the book in public libraries, later I bought it. It is a difficult point in life if you do not know anything else (like I did, too) but after that there is freedom!

Anyone else dealing with the flu?
by frozen one ini left work early on wed as i was starting to cough and my nose was running.
i thought it was just a cold.
got home, took some stuff, went to take a nap...and i doubt that i left my bed for more than 4 hours in the next 48. i did check the mayo site and found i had 7 of the nine listed symptoms for the flu.

Learning the "Truth" Is not true is like...................
by foolsparadise inafter 33 years of being mind controlled at 5 meetings a week, field service meetings, special day assembly, curcuit assembly,district assembly, finding out "the truth" is just a big hoax is like getting punched in the stomach-uppercut in the jaw-being kicked in the balls from behind and then having the rug ripped out from under you and smashing your head on the ground.

Why is the US so afraid of Social Health Care?
by eyeslice ini just don't get why the us is so afraid of social health care, and is so opposed to the canadian and british models.
the plain fact is that there are far more americans without access to health care than the combined populations of sweden, norway, denmark and finland.. a measure of the maturity of any society has to be how it sees fit to re-apportion its wealth.. we are quick to criticise african leaders who line their own pockets but leave the masses in poverty but cannot see that blindly following capitalist principles is much the same.
if we live in a wealthy society then part of that wealth has to be put back into society as a whole.. .
