Fade_away: You can twist the Bible to mean what you want it too. Like that joke that says Jesus drove a Honda but didn't like to talk about it cause in John 12:49 Jesus says "For I did not speak of my own accord".....
I am ROTFLMAO at your comment! I'm a Honda fan, so when I saw your comment I busted out laughing!! I didn't realize Jesus drove a Honda, too!

Proof that shows just how intelligent JW's are!!!
by Sour Grapes inyesterday during the public talk, the elder was talking.
about the reality god's kingdom said "that 7.5 million.
people would not spend billions of hours going from door.

Wow, really? 7.5 million people wouldn't be preaching for NOTHING, would they?? Count me a believer, too! Where do I sign up?? I just love their convincing reasoning. It's no wonder they keep coming back week after week when your brain is DEAD!
ROTFLMAO!! Can't count your time if you're not wearing a skirt?? YEP that sounds about right! Gotta keep the womenz in line! Since when did Jehbooboo care if the women are wearing slacks or not??

Nothing will drastically change until it is too late. The people who control the oil, control the sheeple, and it's ALL for MONEY and POWER. Sad to say, but oil has transformed our lives for the better but it will also transform our lives for the worse when it becomes too expensive to extract.

Hi! I hate to change the topic of your thread, but I read the next Question listed on that same page and I was SHOCKED!
I can't believe they actually taught that Jehovah God is the "other" Chief Prince in Heaven! LOL This is hilarious!!
OK so.. if Jehovah is the other Chief Prince, shouldn't the Bible text read, "Michael, one of the two chief princes in heaven [the other being Jehovah],..."

Just why would god create dinos??
by highdose inthe jw answer to this is that there must have been some purpose for them that we don't yet understand.. but dinos were pretty violent, basic animals who killed without mercy.
i know not all of them but alot of them did.
the ones that were vegetarian ate huge masses of vegatation, how is that productive to the earth?.

God didn't create them. The Satan the Devil put the bones in rocks to confuse humankind.
You may laugh, but my mother-in-law ACTUALLY stated this one time... of course we laughed our a$$es off at her later. But only a true Dub would come up with such a preposterous statement.
I've grappled with this question for a while now, but I've yet to arrive at a satisfactory answer. Maybe when we die, we'll find out..?

Wait, Wait... WHAT?! Dec 15th, WT Study - This bugs me
by civicsi00 inok so i decided to just take a quick peek at the dec 15th study edition and i couldn't even get past the very first article!
it's a "personal" story of a jw who was born in 1928 and his experiences from that era.
what is the first thing printed on this page?

OK so I decided to just take a quick peek at the Dec 15th Study Edition and I couldn't even get past the very FIRST article! It's a "personal" story of a JW who was born in 1928 and his experiences from that era. What is the first thing printed on this page? In the center, it reads:
"When I was born in the southern United States in 1928, segregation of whites and black was the law. Breaking it could lead to imprisonment or worse."
Then the opening sentence reads like this:
"At that time in parts of the United States, white and black Jehovah's Witnesses had to have separate congregations, circuits, and districts."
Hello?? Didn't Rutherford happen to spend some jailtime just 10 years prior to this for that stupid Mystery book? Wasn't he also breaking the Prohibition law by smuggling alcohol from Canada? Wasn't this also around the time that they were raising the issue about saluting the flag?
If Jehovah's Witnesses were TRULY God's chosen people, wouldn't they have the sense to break the law and unite black/white/brown/<insert race here> to PROVE they were RIGHT back then?
Granted I wasn't around in that era, so I cannot fully understand what it was like. If I'm wrong about any of this, please let me know..

How do you know when the Governing Body speaks for itself, and when it is supposed to speak for Jehovah?
by dgp inin the catholic church, the pope is considered "infallible" when he speaks ex cathedra.
that is to say, he is not infallible when he speaks about things that don't have to do with religion.
for example, he may say whatever he pleases about economics, but no one will hold that catholic economists will have sinned against god if they consider that the pope is wrong.. the important point here is that the pope is thought to be infallible only when he speaks about matters strictly related to the church.. the wikipedia has this:.

Don't forget that whenever the GB realizes they've made a mistake in a teaching, it's ALWAYS was the fault of "Jehovah's people", and NEVER them directly. Placing the blame on the sheeple always allows them to escape for another day.. <sigh>

Can you answer: What is "The Truth™"?
by serenitynow! ini mean can someone, preferably an active jw, explain in 5 sentences or less what that really means?.
i ask because of the long post that "20571..." made on another thread about how "the truth" is better than this, that and the other thing.. what does it really mean?.
-
civicsi00
YKnot nailed it. And when I realized this "truth", I knew THEN that I was in a completely false religion.
It's hard to get a JW to simply state this. They don't even realize it's their raison d'etre (did I spell that right?).
