Drop Dead Gorgeous !
by Outaservice inback when i was attending kingdom halls, our circuit had a lot of 'drop dead gorgeous' women, many whom were married to the geekiest looking guys.
i always asked myself, "how did these 'dorks' do it"!
was this because selection was limited, or was this just a peculiarity in our area?

Elders Daughter

Hi. I was an elder's daughter as well. Horrible. Having to live up to the "perfect model young christian sister" was stressful. Everyone just looked at me and my siblings as if we should have it together. Once I turned 17, I did it all. Abortions (yes plural), sex, sex, sex, and smoking, drinking, and lies. Let's just say that I'm glad I'm saved now.

JW's and Homeschooling
by superman inin the mid-to-late 90's i remember the new trend was that a lot of the people that were jw's started pulling their kids out of regular public school and started homeschooling them.
the absolute worst were the kids who had been homeschooled from kindergarten all the way until they graduated.
those poor kids were the most weird, unsocial, naive, sheltered, unadjusted, and uneducated kids i'd ever met.

I think that's great babygirl75. Congrats. I took me a long time to adjust to a social life outside of the JW and I went to public schools! Whatever works for you

I just can't see where home-schooling produces well adjusted social human beings. Growing up as a JW who attended public school, I had hard enough time adjusting to the real world. I know public schools can be inferior to private schools. However, I think your child's education depends on the amount of effort that parents and children put into it, no matter what school they attend. The goal is for them to attend college, right? Move up in the world? Then how will they adjust to college life if they have no social skills?

No way, never. I'd rather slit my own throat then step inside a Kingdom Hall ever! I'd probably pass out and die anyways at the door (from flashbacks).

It is a beautiful day here in Ohio also. Cold but sunny. I also have a wonderful life now. I have God, a wonderful husband, and my daughter is the love of my life. I enjoy each day and the challenges they bring. I feel that when the day comes that we don't encounter challenges, then we are no longer living. Therefore, I cherish each day that I have breathing and am blessed to share them with my husband and daugher.

Do U Look Down On People Who Remain As JWs ..1's u think should no better?
by minimus indo you find yourself looking down on people who you think should know better but still hang on to the religion?
-
Deidra
I think they're pitiful too. I agree, they think I'm pitiful. But really, they are. I think people doubt the religion all of the time (my dad, etc.). However, they are so prideful that they won't act on it. Now, that disgusts me and I do look down on those just a little.

Your story breaks my heart like mines and so many other stories I've heard. Thank you for telling your story. I'm sure it helps your healing process to tell your story. I look forward to hearing more from you. We have to feel blessed everyday that we a no longer a part of that life-wrecking cult.

I have found a local editor that favors my letters - so.....
by AK - Jeff ini kind of submitted a 'closure' letter to the local jw's.
i don't actually know if it will be posted - but the local editor has printed all my past letters - and all of them have been far more critical and pointed than this one.
i think he will print it - we shall see.

I think your letter was very well-written. Good luck in getting it printed. Great Job!
