  I suppose uou are thanking me for the reply on another thread..It's me who has to thank you for the good quotes and links you post.

  Concerning carrying a flag, i just want to inform you that in most Italian congregations a JW would get thumped on his head by the local elders if he went around with an Italian flag.It would be considered nationalistic behavior and going against the principle of neutrality!!
  I guess that anItalian JW with lot's of cash in his bank account and who gives out nice presents to the CO and DO will probably get away with it too.

  The questios are:
  Do the corrections and condemnations which emanate from Booklyn really come from God?

  Does the WTS really proclaim God's message to the world? (ie: the teachings about 1914,1919,1935 just to name a few)

  thank you for this board i was enjoying many of the posts here for some time.

  being from russia, i also enjoy this melting pot atmosphere of the fearless norse, nonchalant aussies and unostentatious americans and i really do like your britishers jolly good sense of humour.. and then comes slang: i was enjoying deciphering all the btw fyi imo imho acronyms.

  I suppose that the poor chap who back in 1968 read the WT which said that the world
  "is crumbling before our very eyes in one orgy of violence and crime after another. Minute by minute, day by day, year by year it moves without fail toward its catastrophic end"
  must be fed up waiting and when the poor fellow looks back at the life he dedicated to the WTS making many sacrifices for the Society instead of preparing his reteirement I just cannot imagine how he must feel........Unless he is hopelessly braindead after all those years of WTS "healthy spiritual food".

  Hi Norm,

  Everyone is entitled to an opinion and everyone has the right to say what he /she thinks, in a respectful manner. Personally I don't see why someone who's done some interesting research on the WTS should not post it on this board. Prisca herself said "Most of us here know already this stuff" Now I will point out that the words "most of us" means that she acknowleges the fact that not ALL visitors of this board are up to date with all the nonsence the WTS has forked out since the good old days of C.T.Russell . I too have done my personal and have reached a conclusion based on it. But I still appreciate when others post theirs as there is always a "pearl" to be found.
  Personally I like reading posts which point out to old WTS material. As I only have the WT CD-ROM, which goes back to 1950, and as I used to be part of an Italian congregation, in all my years as an active Jw I NEVER had the chance to read a WT publication prior to that date. It's only thanks to the Internet and boards like these that I was able to catch a glimpse of the WTS old days.....
  So Norm, keep sending your great posts, I always find them interesting.(i've been reading them since the old days of H20)

  Prisca, I agree with you that posts should be in written in a respectful manner as most visitors are not here to fight but to chat, exchange ideas and learn things from other peoples research. Please remember that not everyone has the possibility to dedicate a lot of time in researching the WTS doctrines due to their personal or family situation. So please don't get upset if there are people, like myself, who appreciate when others post their research here.
  I suggest that if you think that someone has the habit of posting reams and reams of info on the WTS which you already know of, just avoid clicking on his/her posts and go on to read other peoples post which you know you will enjoy.
  But please remember that not everyone necessarily thinks like you, there are many here who enjoy reading lots of WTS relates quotes and comments as many are still fighting a personal battle to free their minds of the WT grip.

  As Pathofthorns rightly said, lets all will continue to have the same civility and tolerance and respect for the opinions and viewpoints and personalities of others.

  about almost everything: how life will be in the new world ordertm, how and when armageddon is going to happen, whether the latest newspaper headline really signals that armageddon is about to start, what the latest new lighttm is going to be, and on and on.. so heres something to also speculate about.

  suppose that jehovah paid a personal visit to the wts leaders and said, .

  If the WTS ruled the world this is what it would be like....

  “Under Watchtowerism we would have a state in the proper sense of the word, that is, a special machine for the suppression of the freedom of of one class by another.”

  “While the Watchtower Society rules there can be no freedom. When there is freedom there can be no Watchtower rule.”

  “Only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on the memory of the crowd”

  They are already experts at this using their magazines…imagine if they controlled all the world news media…like Cnn opps I mean Wnn (Watchtower News Network)

  The GB will probably come up with this type of propaganda:

  “It is true that liberty is precious – so precious that it must be rationed.”

  “We are advocates of the abolition of war, we do not want war; but war can only be abolished through war, and in order to get rid of the gun it is necessary to take up the gun and eliminate all those pesky apostates.”

  “The Watchtower Society is an instrument in the hands of God for suppressing the resistance of his enemies. ( ie: Those pesky apostates…..AGAIN!!!)”

  Last but not least this would be the WTS most used tactic:

  “The broad mass of the nation (apart the surviving apostates)...will more easily fall victim to big lies than to a small ones”
