Do you feel embarrsed?
by The Rebel inwhen you look through a keyhole, and see the person you once were?.
as for myself, i am just pleased i have mended my ways.
i realise ( now) my time as a witness was a keyhole that looked in to the ground, and licked the elders arse.

Two JWs visited
by Listener ini just had two female jws visit, one in their 30s and the other about 20. .
they invited me to their convention to learn about jesus, they said it is three days long but i don't need to attend every day and she highlighted one session at 11.15am where i could learn about jesus.. i said to her that i wouldn't be interested in attending the convention because i believed what a man called rutherford said about religion being a snare and a racket.
they wanted to know who this rutherford guy was and after explaining knew who i was talking about.

The French philosopher Foucault makes it clear that labelling people as apostates, weak in the truth, inactive, un-spiritual leads to stigma which deprives people of social respect and individual empowerment.
Stigma originated in ancient Greece (a special mark or special clothing) to warn people that they represented a danger to society,The individual receives a public definition, which is built into a stereotype, and is declared by the offender like "crazy", "junkie" "criminal" even "apostate' .The label helps to perpetuate the status of an individual in an outsider ("a person out of our circle")
Such a master status suppresses all other statuses. The individual is shaped his social experience which results in playing a role of self-fulfilling prophesy. Why do we allow them to label us as apostate anyway!!!

They won't be back! They only know how to talk at people not engage in an interesting, robust exchange of ideas. Heaven forbid! -

When my wife finally decided that she had to end the marriage because I was a danger to her spirituality,
It is so cruel for "the society"/family/friends to interfere with your marriage and pressure your wife to us or you mentality. My family would have supported me 100% to move away find accomadation ect, ect, on the proviso that I left Mr. Possum (non-abusive husband married for 27 years) who was endangering my spirituality. For a religion that claims to treat marriage as sacred for honoring mine and staying I have been subjected to a cruel/vicious demeaning campaign of shunning. Conditional love!!!

I've decided to make a difference that REALLY matters
by Mrs. Eden inhello friends!today is a sad day for me, as seven months have gone by since my mother passed away after a decades-long fight with breast cancer..
because the witnessing/preaching/teaching work doesn't make any sense to me anymore; because it's not about any "truth"; and because it's basically useless, i've decided to quit doing it.
instead, i've decided to do something that actually can make a real difference in other people's lives.

Mrs Eden, as i faded away from org I trained as a nurse and now a social worker as a middle aged person quite a challenge. preaching and talking at not to people is so ineffective and disrespectful. Congrats for using your life skills and energies in a positive way and not wasting them on org..
