  How the new "generation" study went down in the meeting today

  i made a big effort to get to the watchtower study today.

  i have not been to the meetings much for months, but i figured this was a pretty historic "study" and i wanted to see reactions and how it would go down locally.

  well a few things struck me as a bit odd in the study itself, and in the audience response as well.

  Well I have been "studying" with an EX Elder for months now, and I went last night to meet up with him and his family at the KH. It was a double bonus to hear the generation talk. I for sure stood out with my gaged piercings and 5 inch goatee. I throughly "enjoyed" the mass love bombing from no less than 20 people! I felt like a .....suuuuuperstar! I was there taking mental notes of who was doing what. When they started singing, many folks were barely singing, even the dude on stage....great fun. I noticed one song that was talking of being guided by the Holy Spirit, or something to that effect. Interesting.......

  Anyways the main question/thought I had for the elder, his wife, and other people listening was this. I "optimistically" proclaimed "that's awesome Jesus' Parousia happened in 1914 and was crowned king". I then asked "what exactly were the signs that showed this invisible presence?"Of course I got the typical dub answer of "you know the wars, famine etc." I then was like "ya lots happened in 1914." Their answer "sure did". Then my question "why did it take till the 1930's for the Bible students to see these obvious signs?....consider the Harp of God and all writings before the 30's speaking of 1874 as the Parousia". Their answer "well, we received new light on 1914" I said "yes Jehovah is revealing things more in more in these last days. What exactly did he reveal on the new light of 1914 in the 30's?"...... *crickets chirping*

  I'm surprised they didn't bring up the destruction of Jerusalem in 607BC and then the 2520 "days/years" used in Daniel to tell me the 1914 date. Wouldn't this have been the perfect time for them to inject this "explanation"?

  i was driving home from work one day and i was in the turn lane getting ready to take a left.

  i had a green arrow and i proceeded into the intersection.

  Sorry, I don't make it a habit to get out of my car in a busy intersection to dodge cars in order to ask emergency officials who they are and what are they doing with their lights on. Maybe next time........

  hey yall, i was thinking of the watchtower/un scandal the other day and came up with this analogy.

  so far on here ive heard the ymca and the vatican analogies, which i like also.

  mine goes like this.. .

The general public can consult the material free of charge at any depository library.”
  
  Here's a question you can ask them. If they just needed to use the UN library, then why in the hell were they at UN meetings? I have that answer also.

  I do appreciate your input but I am aware of the fact that officials can and DO manipulate the lights for various reasons. I mean geesh, haven't we all see "Bourne Identity"? No seriously though, my brother-in-law is the head computer GIS manger for the emergency dispatch systems in my home town. I have learned a thing or two on what they're capable of doing for emergency situations.

  I still ask this question aside of the street lights being "manipulated". I can accept that MAYBE the intersection lights were tampered with. My main question that no one has addressed is WHY didn't ANY car in the traffic slow down or even stop but rather drove right past an emergency vehicle that had its lights flashing and sirens going? Lets just say that the cars were in a procession as some have suggested, but what about the cars positioned at my 9:00 that took a right at the intersection? They ignored the emergency lights and sirens also. Surely they weren't in a procession considering that they came from a culd de sac lined with commercial buildings. If your answer is that I'm lying, then I ask what do I have to gain from this? Given the responses I've seen on here, I have more to lose by being called a liar and delusional. I'll ask in a poll, Who here drives right past emergency vehicles that have their lights on and sirens going? If you do, it's a ticket waiting to happen.

  Here's a thought. Since they have lawyers that contend for political human rights purposes, what's the difference in becoming a political official that has dealings only in human rights? My reasonings to them are "fighting for human rights are Christian/JW like aren't they"? I'm sure they'd have a way to shut down this thought also.

  Ya I've seen the argument on here with him and the UN thing. The dubs like to say "render to Caesar what is his" as an excuse. They like to say that yes the UN is indeed a government. Unless you give direct taxes to the UN, it's not the Caesar in context of what Jesus was speaking of. Make THEM explain what part of the beast they are not to be a part of and what does it mean to take the "mark"? I have other ideas but this is all I'll write for now. Blessings.......

  Shawn wrote "Good analogy, but no one is going to get it without those parenthetical explanations. It's a bit complex." I do agree with you that this analogy is a little much. When I talk to the dubs, I shorten my version to make it much more simple.

  I'm curious what professional public official do you know that fits that description? What's your explanation? I would like to hear it. You say there could be many? I would like to hear your ideas. FYI, The hair, lights, and sirens are only part of the whole picture.

If you knew me you'd see that I'm not a demon nor an angel hunter. It's just things I've experienced in my life that can't be explained that's all. My girlfriend hasn't believed in such things when I met her (she's more or less Catholic). After being in "my world" she has also witnessed things that can't be explained. I'm sure you think I'm crazy, that's ok with me, just don't rule everything out just cause you don't understand it. That's all I'm saying here. How's the Kiwis?
