why care about spiritual things?

i see most of all of you speak in different opinions of what is or may be true spiritual things (while a few ar just freezing cold or dead spiritualy), but i ask all of you, why even bother to care or pretend to care of spiritual things?.

I understand that this forum is about spirituality which is why I thought you were thinking about proof of spirituality. I misunderstood and I am sorry.

I was not raised a JW, instead I was raised Catholic, then after seeing the hipocracy in church I decided to look for another source of spiritual belief, so I joined the methodists and found more hipocracy. I then tryed and examined budism, muslim, and jewish faiths. Then after being unsatisfied with all of these, a JW visited and studied with me. I have done alot of research and found that the JWs have fewer court cases of sexual abuse, or any other type of misconduct.

Truth be said, man is prune to make mistakes due to sin, but in the big picture of how the rest really are, there is no comparison to the rest of the other religions. I haven't met an ex-JW who went to the Catholics, Muslims, Methodists, or any other sect or religion.

I see that you wish to celibrate Christmas, I guess you know that Jesus wasn't born on December (heck the whole world knows this) instead he was born somewhere in June or July. So then if you celabrate Christmas, you are actually celabrating Saturnalia a pagan festival which the Romans commemorated the dedication of the temple of the god Saturn, which took place on December 17. Over the years, it expanded to a whole week, up to December 23.

the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th make up about half the world's population but have only a tiny number of jehovah's witnesses in them.. 1 china 1,286,975,468 .

Actually, In China the governmet can not permit any type of religious information to leave that country which is why they can't give an informed exact number of how many congragations it has or how many assisted the memorial of Jesus death. But as for the rest...

India- 406 congragations 64,834 attended the memorial service.

USA- 12,390 Cong. 2,308,035 memorial

Indonesia- 402 Cong. 46,550 memorial

So you think that Columbine and the twin towers are things that happen to a minority of human kind. How about the forest fires in California, or Hurracaine Katrina, or the oil spill in San Francisco, or Hillary Clinton?

This is for Fifi40- So you think that spirituality has to be proven. It seems you have to look to believe that spirituality exists. How sad. A life without spirit is trully like a water bottle with a hole, It's only belongs in the trash. Any kind of information or knowledge you try to hold will just slip thru the hole. JWs observe the Bible and if you speak this way against the Bible, you are sinning against the Holy Spirit. But then again, you just might not believe anything coming from the Bible, so what do you care.

Death and Resurrection

good morning all.. i am writing this after learning of my father's death yesterday.

i am a bit out of sorts to say the least.

i was fortunate to have been able to talk and laugh with him only last weekend while he was (we thought) recovering from a coma in a long term care facility.

First off, I am sorry for your loss...

Second, the fact that the JWs belief of resurrection is a false teaching, according to your words, is an utter and shameful lie! They believe what the bible teaches, not something that just came to their heads and tried to impliment their believers.

The prophets have resurrected a few people in their time. Also Jesus resurrected a few himself as well. This is all in the Holy Bible. If you read it a little, like Gahndi, Martin L. King Jr., or Einstien did, you would know this.

Muslims and even the American Indians believe in a higher spirit being, but the buddists and hinduists, believe in a higher state of oneself called nirvana. Both are spiritual needs for each of the beliefs. These people know that this life is confusing and hard enough to walk it by themselves.

With death always around the corner and natural desasters that plauge the world, not to mention uncureable and painfull diseses, and hunger, and homeless people, do you really feel in control of your life to say you can "accept the consequences or rewards for any actions you take or decisions you make"?

Then to this I say to you my friend, good luck on your lonesome strugle of life. I hope you don't find yourself in a 'Columbine' situation, or in another 'twin towers' place where either you are in the plane or on the top floor of either buildings. I'm sure you will find what you are looking for in the end of the tunnel- Death.

Why is religion such a mass of confusion?

as a person who has not attended meetings for some time now, and having stood back and looked at the thousands of different faith groups, organisations, churches etc i often think how on earth are we to know what direction to go.

if a person looks deeply into their own faith questioning how, what and why... the deeper the hole gets as to errors.

from my own experience having firstly been a catholic then a jw, all i see are manmade rituals and rules mingled in with biblical principles and commandments.

Yes selfish motives! because they are living in the way of this crule and unjust world where everything is fast pace.

You want to eat now? go to a McDonald's, You want to buy anything at all right now? go to e-bay. You want information now? go to the web. You want money now? get a loan. You want the end to happen now? You'll have to wait until God wants to deliver the evil to the feet of the king Jesus Christ, and people don't get it that things can't happen when they want all the time, which makes them inpatient and selfish.

But you are not alone! inpatience comes from the man-made governments that teach this to children in schools, and soldiers in the military, and the in every place you look around, you'll notice how billboards try to impliment a skinny body, a muscular man, spend money here spend money there because you need this and you need that!

These are things that make people become selfish because they say you need this, you deserve that, you can be this, or you can do that! and then all who believe have become apart of this world and in their brainwash of evil. Then they want to be rich, or get implants, or be in debt, or become famous, or a hunter of human beings.

Truth be told, there is and always will be confusion on any religion. Some will take the words of any belief system and try to selfishly twist it to their own benefit for money, power, or even fame. Take the terrorists, for example. In the name of religion they want the power they used to have, so they send the blind and ignorrant of them to blow themselves up with the blind promise of becoming martirs. Take the Catholic church as another example, for years they have ruled most of the world with an iron fist so they can become as rich as they are now. They even have their own country, army, and die hard faithful believers that are willing to kill.

What's the difference between them and the JW?

The JW's all are peaceful, followers of the Bible. They mean no harm even thou they are still sinful humans with human mistakes yet very educated and neutral in the things that are worldly, political, or military.

"Spirituality can comprise both inner growth, changing oneself as one changes one's relationship with the external universe, and the outer process of transforming the physical reality around oneself as a result of the inward change." -Plato (allegory of the cave)

In fact being spiritual may aim towards improving ones wisdom and willpower, achiveing a closer connection to God/Deity/Universe, and removing illusions or false 'ideas' at the sensory, or feeling and thinking aspects of a person.

Just like a psychologist can identify if a person is mentaly disoriented and try to orient them to a normal more productive life, Or when a friend or family member sees that the person is suffering from a problem or saddness, anyone can see the things written by any of you and identify just how cold or dead your spirituality trully is.

Humans have the ability to reflect God's personality traits, including the capacity for spiritual things, or spirituality. Just as God created our bodies with a superbly designed immune system, which fights disease and helps keep us healthy, he also equipped us with a conscience, or inner voice, which can help us make right decisions and avoid practices that are harmful physically and spiritually.

Jesus said: "Man must live, not on bread alone, but on every utterance coming forth through Jehovah's mouth." ( Matthew 4:4 ) It is, therefore, up to us to put forth the effort to take in that spiritual nourishment. To the extent that we come to know the Bible and endeavor to apply its principles in our life, to that extent we will benefit spiritually and physically.— Isaiah 48:17, 18 .

I thought I asked your veiw on spirituality, not your veiw on my veiw of spirituality. Then again, some poeple just don't have an opinion on this subject since mabey they are confused and can't deside on whether they should believe on what one guy says, or what another says, or if it just isn't real.
