jeffery, I'm so sorry that you've got your feelings hurt, but when my loved ones face the possibility of death, because of misguided rules from people that don't know any better, I tend to lash out and tell people to stick things up their ass. Hope your feeling better.

Honestly, I don't think that I ever knew I was being shunned by a clique in the hall. If anything, I was in the clique that shunned other kids that were'nt as cool as we were, or thought we were. I remember several people with more than a little shame, because they might have made good friends if I had let them.

In the case of blood transfusions, the above may be true. Perhaps she would feel that her mate had let her down, or had cheated her out of some god-given right.
I may have to make that choice one day soon. My wife will be getting a kidney transplant one day soon, and this problem will rear it's ugly head undoubtedly. I think I can live with her feeling that I've betrayed her wishes. I won't like it but so be it, but I will not, I cannot, and I won't look my 8 year old son in the eye when it's all over knowing that I could have let the Dr's try one more thing that might have saved her, but didn't because a bunch of old assholes in Brooklyn told me I shouldn't.

Why dont we hear as much condemnation against this travesty as we do about the poor old men in new York trying their best to keep us spiritually clean
My wife, whom I love so very much, is in the midst of finishing all the tests and consultations for a kidney transplant. She is in End-Stage Renal failure, and is on daily Peritoneal Dialysis. She is also a JW who sincerely loves Jehovah, and still beleives that the WBTS is a good thing. I respect her views while disagreeing, and want her to respect mine. (at the present we are in sort of a holding pattern) I, on the other hand, am an ExJW who has the wonderful inability to tolerate assholes who spew venomous BS that will greatly affect me and my loved ones, but not them.
When she has her transplant procedure, I will have POA, that was decided long ago. I won't let the love of my life die for a misguided and ridiculous belief used by your "poor old men" Jefferywhat, to keep their boots on the throats of 6 million JW's.
If your "poor old men", or their HLC's, or any of your jack-booted thug JW's try to force the issue of blood on me and my family, Jefferywhat, then god help them. They, and you for that matter, can shove your dogma about blood up your rear.

My wife is in, her mother, sister, and brother. My maternal Grandmother, 2 of her brothers, her sister. Approximately 35 cousins. Several other aunts and uncles, and probably several more that I've forgotten.
