OK there seems to be a little misunderstanding about the point I was trying to make with my little shooting scenario thing. Which scenario do you think would be safer for the homeowner and his/her children if the homeowner had no other choice but to use the weapon? The handgun or the AR? And please tell me why you think this. I really want to know how many of you perceive these things based on what I know about them.

A little update on my family
by sooner7nc ina few of you may remember that my wife had a kidney transplant early last year.
since then the kidney has been incredible, giving her a new lease on life.
it's really been good to see the light in her eyes that i had missed for quite a long time.. the counterpoint to this good news is the problems we have had with our son coltin.

the majority of my time attending watchtower meetings i was essentially never exposed to how spiritual beliefs relate to political belifes, even in terms with jw watchtower doctrine.
i grew up understanding that some witnesses had diffrent ideas on things, but was made to feel that the watchtower established many key beliefs that are required for witnesses in good standing.

I wouldn't read too much into what you glean from the news right now. If you sift out the sensationalism and bullshit you're left with political grandstanding and not much more.

One question I have always had about this subject is this; were you really free to just up and leave if you signed the renouncement form? I can't imagine a society as virulent as Nazi Germany simply forgetting about you if you signed it. I would imagine that many of those JWs knew this and figured it was better just to stay together. If anyone knows what happened if you signed the form please let me know.
