...I'd leave out stuff that serves no purpose - like the appendix and coccyx.
...I'd make the testicles internal so all those baseballs in the groin didn't hurt so much.
...I'd add a third hand and eyes in the back of the head.

by looking at every occasion that jesus used the expression "this generation", it is possible to work out what he meant.. i have listed these occasions, along with some questions, at:.
http://www.jwstudies.com/this_generation.pdf.
i am interested to know what you think.. doug.
I agree with TD - the connotative accolade/criticism of "the generation" seems a little off-base to me, almost overlaying the straight-forward with a straw man (the opposition to "the generation" being complimentary becomes a kind of Holy Grail when limited to the paper itself). It might work for me a little better if the question were more along the lines of, "Does 'the generation' seem to be made up of Christ's followers or opponents?"
Very nicely done!
take a look at www.aspartame.org they said it is not bad for you.
i am confused.
.
Stevia may be a carcinogen, may reduce sperm count, and other things - http://safety.lovetoknow.com/Dangers_of_Stevia. It's banned in parts of the world - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevia. I'm not going to live my life by the Interwebz, but you can find whatever you want.
Aspartame is amino acids. They're in your body already. Like water. Like acid. Like a lot of things. Few concerns unless you have phenylketonuria, in which case you're watching what you eat well beyond sweeteners. It is "one of the most thoroughly tested and studied food additives the agency [FDA] has ever approved."
Don't inundate yourself with it. Like someone else said, too much water can kill you.
And, of course, always pay attention to what your own body is telling you. It's not a one-size-fits-all world.
boy i gotta say, i just can't make up my damned mind.
everytime i'm starting to feel better about the jw's, a brother or sister or the watchtower will say something just totally wacky.
did anyone get that bit in the watchtower last week about no questions allowed what so ever!!
In: So, let me understand...the occasional apostate rant keeps you glued into an organized cult?
Are there really just the two choices: mindlessly obey, or scathingly attack?
I rather think the two choice choices are: stay in the mind-control group, or realize there's a huge world outside of that to choose from. After all, the WTS only claims .1 percent of the world's billions.
Inside the WTS 6 million you know exactly what is there. I can't imagine that you can pass judgment on the rest of the world's nearly 6 billion based on a few rude comments from some random ex-JWs.
As for me: if I have to hide what I believe to be friends with someone, obviously it's not a friendship. It's something else.
And: sure, if I hear something I disagree with, I don't feel the need to bolster my ego by hearing my own opinon all the time. At the same time, I don't let people voice utter nonsense without sharing balancing thoughts. Without the ability to express dissent, there is no respect or mutuality in a relationship.
i have a jw friend who i watch sports with.
his wife is not a dub.
he has a daughter from a previous marriage who is gay.
Sometimes their strong individualist rhetoric is mistaken for a lack of tolerance, but I think it's just because philosophically they believe in teaching a man to fish for himself.
I can fish very well, thank you. But not when my pole is stolen. Why should these "individualists" care what I do with my own pole? Perhaps because they are only interested in their own individualism?
As I said, the way Republicanism is marketed to me - the way they try to entice me - is by appealing to my vindictive, narrow-minded parts. In nearly every case, it's an appeal to help me dominate others and deny them their individuality.
Rather like those Christians that feel martyred because they can't force their morality on everyone else.
(Hi Beks!)
i knew some elders that were very reluctant to go after certain people because those people knew little secrets that they kept to themselves.. many bethelites i knew were huge drinkers.
there was kind of an unwritten pact that if you were cool with it, you were part of the "in" group= you would get "privileges" and bigshots would be your "friends".. did you ever have something over another witness?
?.
Just open secrets - who was smoking, who was doing heroin, who was getting/giving handjobs behind the roller rink...after getting counseled by a JC (not mine) to not "spread rumors" (IOW, to not answer affirmatively about what I knew) I learned not to let anyone know I knew what was going on.
i'm toying with the idea of going vegetarian for a month, just to see what it feels like.
my concerns are.
costconveniencenutritionflavormy question is thus, is there a vegetarian diet that will meet these criteria?
Emma offers great cookbook suggestions.
Your main concern should be amino acids, check out http://www.vegsoc.org/info/protein.html.
I am not vegetarian myself, I have several friends that are and my partner goes veggie part-time.
PS - I laughed.

I dislike mongering of most sorts. In my limited experience, Fox News is like many other brainwashing processes, focused to MTV graduates.
I think Fox panders to a sad, selfish part of our humanity. And, yes, it is often hateful.
When I compare it to more liberal figureheads, I find I am much more attracted to logic and compassion - both of which I find little of on the Fox infomercial.
If the current administration has made a mistake, it is in tyring to be inclusive. And I would be making the exact same mistake in their shoes, sadly.
It would be much easier to be lulled over to Republican ideas if the party were more socially inclusive - instead, I see invective and intolerance as marketing.
I just don't understand the need to denigrate the ill, the different, those that disagree. It really has come down to this for me:
Republicans have become the party of fanatical intolerance. > of course, that's not true of all individuals - but that's how it's marketed itself to me
And that's not the world I want to live in. I don't want to live in a Kingdom of the Blind, or where people have to hide their identity or thoughts. I don't want to live in a country of fear. I reject white supremacy, "defence" of marriage, any one religion as part of the state.
I embrace diversity, inclusion and compassion as my ideals.
Republicans have become the WTS of politics. [ducks behind desk]
i don't think i've ever been in love, and have no idea what it is or what it is like?.
is it somthing fictional or real?.
There are obvious answers, but at the end of that road lies, "There are different kinds of love." English is lacking when it comes to some fo these short words we use for a range of expression: love, god, and the like.
"Being in love" might (more accurately) be languaged as, "holding the needs and desires of another as important to you as your own." Go too far from that and you have lust, possession, infatuation, or something else in the mix - all of which can lead to a satisfying, if not at times vexing, relationship.
"Love" might be translated as "Yes" in a "spiritual" sense.
Different people eroticize and/or value different subtleties of expression and experience differently, and when they achieve these in the company of another they often say they are "in love." This can be a bit of a misnomer, however, because they may be confusing a desired, satisfying state (e.g., security) with this "love."
Others will go all reductionist and equate "being in love" with lust/infatuation/desire/want/possession - all those "puppy love" things that young people are supposed to moon for. I hope we have evolved a little beyond that, or perhaps that's just the perspective of someone too old to know anything any more.
jesus said to 'go your way and sin no more' and the bible also says not to 'use the grace of god as an excuse to sin'.
however the bible also says that 'all sin and fall short of the glory of god'.
this means that we can only partially obey the commandment to be sinless.
I'm not a Chirstian but I played one on TV.
Sylvia gets it in one. As usual.
God's grace is as inexplicable to most of us as how life got started.
I think the point is to become mature enough to recognize what is wrong, and to not consciously choose what you nkow to be wrong.
The other part is not be so immature as to think you know what is wrong for someone else.
