my family, my da status and my s-i-l (VENTING)

Harmony, I know how you feel. I want to tell my family about all the things that I have discovered about the org. My father is inactive and my mother has told me that she will love me no matter what. The one who really scares me is my sister. She is really into being a Witness. Although I am not dependent on my family, it would tear me apart if my sister decided not to have anything with me. Some days I feel like throwing all caution to the wind and tell my family everything I feel.

Attracted To What Types?
by gilwarrior ini tend to find myself attracted to the extremes.
either woman who are very nice and sweet or woman who are wild and crazy.
however, i don't like woman who are rude and have a lot of attitude.. many guys like blonds, but i tend to like dark haired woman better.

What I am talking about a movie that you thought was great, but is mostly forgotten by most people today.
Well, my favorite overlooked movie is "A Perfect World." In it Kevin Costner is an escaped felon who escapes from prison with another felon. They then break into a house and kidnap a boy who is a (gasp!) JW. Clint Eastwood is the cop who assigned to find him and the boy.
The movie is interesting, because the boy does not act like a kidnapped victim. Acually, the Costner and the boy like each other and we see a bond formed. We learn that Costner had a bad childhood and later he takes the boy out to trick or treat. (Remember the boy was raised as a JW.) Another interesting thing is how Costner makes this character likeable. He is kind to the little boy and when we find the details of his life I kind of felt sorry for him. We realize that he in not necessarily an evil person.
The best since in the movie is when Costner and the boy are staying at the house of some strangers who have given them a place to stay. We see the way the grandfather treat the little boy of the house and this causes Costner to explode in a rage of violence.
The suprise is at the end when we find out a connection between Costner and Eastwood. Although there is not much violence in this movie, there is a shooting at the end, but it doesn't happen the way you think it would in a movie like this.
Next to "Schnidner's List" this was the best movie of 1993. It is ashame that most people didn't see it. It was also one of the few movies to protray Jehovah's Witness. If you get a chance do rent it, do so. You would be surprised.

I only support abortion if:
1) The woman's life is in danger.
2) The pregnancy was the result of rape or incest.
By the way. When my mother got pregnant with me, my parents were not married. Not a day goes by that I am grateful that my parents got married, had me, and did not abort me!

I feel so sick, I think I am gonna die............
by butalbee ini feel achy all over, like i've been runned over by a steam roller, my head pounds, like someone just keeps ringing a god damn bell in my ear, i'm shivering, freezing, but i got the heat turned way up, my temp is 102.5 and i think i am gonna die.. i hate being sick.
i know i got the flu.

Don't feel so bad, Butalbee. In December I got the flu TWICE in two weeks! I went to my parent's house. My mom made me tea and soup and gave me juices. I felt silly letting myself be mommied like that (I am 28 years old), but I was so weak, I didn't argue.

by Mindchild inin chat tonight, i was discussing self-defense measures i used to teach when i was on the lecture circuit showing women and men how to protect themselves from physical assault in a violent situation.
you can never be sure when you might find yourself in an ugly situation and it is always smart to think ahead of what to do if you find yourself in one of these situations.. this thread wont be very pretty and the methods i mention below and the ones you may add in other posts may be downright terrifying.
you may also find the information im going to tell you violates many state and local laws but it is your choice if you want to be carried by six or judged by twelve.

I live in Texas and here a person can legally own a handgun provided they pass a background check and take certain hours of handgun safety classes. I don't have any desire to have a handgun in my house, but have thought of taking a class in handgun safety, just in case.
