i`m discussing something with a jw.

i claim that the greek "parousia" doesn`t mean invisible presence, it simply means "presence".

isn`t that correct?

As I understand the Bible gave us advice about future false profets that will teach about an invisible presence of Jesus.

You can read about it in Mat 24: 23 - 27.

hello all, i've been reading your site for a couple of years now, and have found, for the most part, it to be very helpful.

i must say, at first i was very "scared" at what i might find, but contrary to what i grew up learning, there is a "wealth" of information outside of the watchtower organization.

i haven't attended meetings for about two years now, and like many i've read about, have spent many hours researching, telling myself "i'm not wrong for searching", and doing more research.

Never the NWT Committee had claimed to be inspired by the Holy Spirit in the NWT translation, neither that it is the work of the Holy Spirit.

But only a question, if you really believe that, then: Why do you believe that the NWT had some revisions, for example in Hebrews 1:6?

Do you believe that the Holy Spirit made a mistake in the first translation?

i would imagine the hold they have over the people there is less.

Yes they do. They DA and DF for the same reasons that in USA, but there are less ex-JW that express theirs ideas in forums like this one. But they are growing in numbers.

WT Letter about elders' sins

someone recently posted a topic which included a link to a wt letter to bodies of elders.

the letter stated that if an elder confessed to having committed a serious (i.e.

disfellowshippable) sin a number of years ago, and nobody knew about it, he need not be removed.

Hi,

Some years ago, when I was an elder, the Elders Body of my congregation used this instruction, for the benefit of a Ministerial Servant.

Actually, I'm looking for a scan of this information either.

Maybe this instruction was used to not remove the Bethel elders, that was involved in the WTBT-ONU fiasco, and who knows, maybe also in the Pat Garza accusation of Ted Jaracz.

I would apreciatte if some one publish the link for the scan.
