I know that she loves me, but she uses put downs to keep from being challenged. She is an arrogant enough person that she wouldn't let an outsider talk about her husband and kids like that, ONLY SHE can talk about her kids like that. So I am forcing her to talk about me behind my back to my face, which she can't bring herself to do because she is a very proud person who has a hard time apologizing to people. It isn't a game, its a control. I control how she talks to me until I trust her enough to allow her to speak to me on familiar terms. This is frequently employed by royalty, by Gurus, in the military, throughout the Japanese culture, and wherever an air of respect is in order. It may be annoying, and maybe even a little manipulative, but it is better than the alternative. I gave her a kiss goodnight and told her Mr. loves Mrs.

Steve2 I have Aspergers Syndrome, and while I don't want to use it as a free pass to dish it out but not take it. Even the littlest put down is an invitation to a battle of insults of infinite profanity and infinite verbal rage until everybody around me is either miserable or hilariously entertained by the shyteshow. My wife is the eldest in a family of Twelve, and because JW men are universally the breadwinners, and I don't conform to her expectations of what a man should be, that she has the right to disrespect me just a little, because respect should be earned and not automatically free. I think respect should be free until it has been forfeited by having been disrespected. I am trying to end the you started it game by changing the rules and forcing her to consciously think about how she talks to me. Given my neurological condition this is the best I could come up with.

I think this ties into the post I tried to start a few hours ago but that has not gotten any responses. I am in a relationship where I am being constantly belittled and made to feel that nothing I do is ever good enough. And instead of refusing to be verbally abused, I respond with even nastier verbal abuse. I am in a relationship with a narcissistic self-righteous person whose narcissism is encouraged by her faith. I have decided to fight narcissism with self-esteem. Every time my wife puts me or the children down and tries to hurt our self-esteem, "Mr Trinity refuses to be addressed in the 2nd person. "You're an idiot" is interrupted by "Mrs. Trinity owes Mr. Trinity Sr./Jr. an apology and Mr. Trinity is not to be addressed in the Second Person until an apology is forthcoming." followed by "Mrs. Trinity can talk to Mr. Trinity's hands because Mr. Trinity's ears are not listening." and continue to interrupt being addressed in the Second Person in order to protect myself from being verbally abused or being tempted to verbally abuse. What is known as illeism is a great armor against verbal abuse. My wife says its a "game", but I say that it is "having game". -

Its amazing the way they go out of their way to unnecessarily discredit themselves: Beards, Membership tallies, the point seems to be to keep people too busy to read the bible for themselves, pursue an education,etc., just keep them as dumbed down as possible. But they can't play Jah and the People forever. Time will tell.

Money problems as a result of lawsuits and diminishing contributions due to stagnating incomes of uneducated young families. The GB being subpoenaed and shamed in front of the Supreme Court. To be an entertainer you need the same kind of wit and chutzpah that the borg has no use for. Disfellowshipping if it is done at all should be done by people who are morally, intellectually, and emotionally qualified, and maybe his rationalization is that almost nobody in the organization is qualified as such, which may be the only way for a college boy to reconcile the cognitive dissonance. -
