I brought up the idea before that some country, especially Russia, could simply give them some square miles and deport their Jehovah's Witnesses there, and tell them they are so fed up with their preaching that they are giving the JWs their own country and deporting them all there. That could cause the GB to say the time of preaching is over.

Will Governing Body stop preaching work?
by neat blue dog inat this year's annual meeting (2016), david "mark" sanderson asks the audience the question, "are you determined to keep on preaching with us until we say the work is completed?
" to which they respond with applause.
do you think that stopping the preaching work will ever be a part of the gb's long range plan?

WT Quote: Is It Wrong to Change Religions?
by Sanchy inis it wrong to change religions?w59 5/15 305-307 (bold mine):.
chances are you did not choose the religion you profess but you inherited it from your parents.
comparatively few persons actually make their own choice of a form of worship.

Well I have been a Local Churchist, a Rastafarian, a Bahai, a Messianic, and an Ethiopian Orthodox Christian, and now I find myself wavering between being a Deist, a Sikh, and a Noahide. I love Jesus, but I have found that those that pray for things in his name are generally pretty disgusting people. You never hear them pray for the doctors to do a successful operation, because then the credit would go to the doctors and not God, as if God needs anything.

The Pseudipigrapha Books of Adam and Eve go into a lot more depth on this subject than Genesis. Considering that they are onlypreserved in the Ethiopic, my best guess is Ethiopia.

Why Is it the Girls who Hang in There?
by snugglebunny inhaving seen many, many people leave the org over the years, i have to say that, when it comes to married couples, it's almost always the man who makes the first move to leave.
conversely, when it comes to being converted into the witnesses, more often than not it's the wife who joins up first.
although that wasn't the case with my own parents, my father became converted and my mother followed very reluctantly..

It's socialization. If Abraham were a woman she would have stayed in her father Terah's tents and dressed the idols up, instead of mocking and then smashing them and then running away. The woman who takes a stand is scapegoated when a man would get lionized for doing the same thing.

If all Christians were Quakers or Unitarians, all Muslims Sufi or Ismaili, and all Jews were Reform or Karaites, the God of Abraham would have a much better reputation IMHO. It isn't about which religion you follow but how well your confessional community can balance faith and reason. The JWs get an F in balancing faith and reason.

So when they knock on the door, just tell them you don't trust anything a clean shaven man dressed as a salesman has to say about Jehovah (slam!) That will create a cognitive dissonance if enough people tell them that, until they start to think that their clean-shavenness is detracting from the message.

Jw's and beards
by wannaexit inwithout going into details.
it appears that new light might be coming down the pipes that beards are acceptable.

Just tell the elders that you don't have a sexy chiseled chin like them and that it is unchristian to persecute a less handsome one in such a convoluted way that they can't tell whether you are sincere or sarcastic.

JW's are like vegetarians

Veganism is great as long as you have the right kind of constitution for it. I don't because vegetable protein tends to be high in oxalates that form stones in me. I guess if I stuck to hummus, white bread and coleslaw I could survive.

Jehovah’s Witnesses do not seek truth and prefer to follow their hearts...
by garyneal init’s been a while since i posted some thoughts of mine concerning the jehovah’s witnesses and the watchtower babble and trash society.
okay, i will be respectable and say it right, the watchtower bible and tract society.
i do, however, think about the doctrines quite a bit as well as the overall doctrines from christianity in general.

How many times have I told my wife that whether such information is coming from an apostate source is irrelevant and to consider it irrelevant without investigating the factuality of the information is an ad hominem rejection. I then ask my wife is Jehovah a God of Logic or Pathos? Then she stoops to name-calling. She wouldn't do that to a householder going from house to house, but as her husband I'm fair game.

The Dutch were the suppliers of African prints for years until African countries started producing their own fabrics. I remember some bright dressers when I briefly visited the Netherlands too.
