by Lee Elder inin a new "must read" article, a former jw hlc committee chairman explains why blood components are the real issue, and the terrible price paid to learn this important lesson.. http://ajwrb.org/components-of-blood-are-the-issue.

Will Artificial Intellegence Make The Human Race Extinct?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think it is inevitable.
i don't worry about it but it just seems that the human race is going down a road that they can't make a turn off.. they are probing/discovering how the human mind works and produces intelligence down to the individual molecule.
now with the invention of the super quantum computer soon we will be able to build even better artificial intelligence greater than our own, so it will be easily able to out smart us because will we be a bunch of dumb apes first discovering how to make fire in it's eyes.. it will have it's own different agendas than us humans.

Ironic that you spelt intelligence wrong in the heading though.

No Bible = No God?
by menrov insome doubt about the bible completely, some partially.
what if the bible turns out to be a product of humans, nothing divine.
would you still believe in a creator?.

Before the Bible was written or any other ancient 'holy book', what did people worship?
Mostly the sun. The sun gives us light, warmth, it moves in the sky, its visible, etc.
Makes a lot more sense to worship the sun as our creator than any God of ancient scripture who can't be seen, doesn't communicate, doesn't intervene, doesn't do anything, just appears in a lot of ancient crazy stories.

Inconsistency involving Lot and Abraham
by Ireneus inwhen god informed of his intention of destroying the wicked inhabitants of sodom and gomorrah abraham made extensive questioning, cross-questioning and bargaining with god till he gets satisfied.
(genesis 18:16-33) however, when god informed of his intention of murdering abraham’s own only-begotten, innocent son, he simply obeys without any questionings [which he should naturally have done more intensely than he did in the case of unrelated wicked people].. god too acted strangely!
no introduction of the subject with sufficient reasons.

We only know that God’s power is predicated on laws and concepts of justice and mercy that we don’t yet presently comprehend.
You don't know anything. Typical Christian response. It's too hard to understand but believe it anyway.
If we are made in the image of God his morality should be understandable, comprehensible.
Pay no heed to ancient Jewish pious fraud and priestcraft.

Anyone watching Star Trek Discovery?
by Coded Logic inso i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.
great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.
beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.

I absolutely love Star Trek but Discovery is total CRAP. I couldn't stand anymore after the first two episodes. A real travesty and not deserving of being called Star Trek.

Key to some universal truths—Queen Jezebel has it!
by venus ineven wicked queen jezebel knew ‘what is good and what is bad’ because she described those who hurt others for no reason as “good-for-nothing.” (1 king 21:10).
from her comment the following universal truths can be discerned:.
1) everyone is endowed with the knowledge of good and bad, which makes god’s communication with humans unnecessary.

Everyone is endowed with the knowledge of good and bad, which makes God’s communication with humans unnecessary.
Actually it makes God unnecessary.
A God that is totally aloof, non-intervening and non-communicating may as well not exist.
If we are inherently capable of deciding what is good or bad for ourselves, God becomes irrelevant, unnecessary.
By your own reasoning, the Bible was not required in the first place either. No communication by scripture or any other means was necessary, using your own argument.
You've sawn off the branch you were sitting on.

Who did new testament writers think Jesus was ?
by Steel ini have been reading this book called " the two powers in heaven " .. the readers digest version is basically there was a first century belief of kind of a dual god system in the old testament.
god is invisible and yet he appears at the " word of the lord " or " the angel of the lord ".
basically any time god was visible and dealing with humans in a touchable , see able manner , it was though to be christ.

Show us specific quotes please.
The Jews were well familiar with the concept of an angel acting as an agent of God, or of an agent speaking as if they were God. They never thought for a moment that the agent was God, even when the agent spoke as if they were God.

Prayers ,are they answered ? or is it just self delusion ?
by smiddy3 inafter 33 years as a jw and leaving 25 years ago i think prayer can be summed up with the jews praying at the wailing wall.. all they are doing is talking to a brick wall ,and getting no feed back.
and they expect an answer to their prayers ?!.
christians /other beliefs might find that funny but they are no better off.. prayer is always a one way street you talk either vocally or mentally to god however you never get the same back .. if god " so loved the world that he doesnt want any to be destroyed but have everlasting life " then whats the problem with him audibly answering his servants prayers ?
-

If God answered prayers in any way, shape or form, it would be intervention in human affairs. Prayer is divine intervention. Yet when you ask a Christian why God allows evil and suffering, they answer that God cannot intervene in human affairs as it is interfering with our free will.
Christianity is just one huge, absurd and obscene contradiction.

Joel Osteen's Church is a Cult too ??
by ShirleyW init's being said all over social media that joel osteen hasn't opened his mega church for refuge during the storm, pictures are showing this area is not flooded.
i made a few comments myself saying that the jws only help their own in time of need but this god fearing man isn't helping anyone.. just what religion is he and his followers, i guess it's one of those non-denomination churches that collect a shitload of bucks to him and wife so he can afford the glamorous life, nothing new of course, i thought he was just a bit different than the others, fooled me..

Are you serious? His talking style sounds so phoney and wooden. He speaks without pausing, always at the same pace, never stops for any dramatic effect. Its like one long, rehearsed monologue. Is contrived and lacking any real sincerity.
Easily the worst and most one-dimensional, wooden, tv evangelist I've seen.
