You really do mix facts with rubbish Doug.
I'm still waiting for the quotes from the apocrypha in the NT that you asserted exist. Please produce them.
the apocryphal books are accepted by catholics in their douay version as inspired of god, but rejected by the rest of christianity?.
why?.
when you examine the reasons for and against acceptance of the apocrypha as divinely inspired or not, it dawns on you that the traditionally accepted 39 books of the hebrew scriptures are nothing but the same sort of stuff as the more recent apocryphal books are, with the only difference being that the 39 much older ot books contain a lot more scary stories, fables and mythology invented by the ancient jewish priesthood to frighten their followers into fear and obedience and continued giving of meat sacrifices for the priests to eat.. ultimately, the ot can be summarised as nothing but a mixture of relatively accurate historical jewish war histories and genealogies, such as the aprocrypha is, mingled with scary stories made up by the ancient jewish priests and scribes..

Huh? The NT writers never quoted from any apocrypha books.
But you've basically missed the whole point of my opening post Doug.

If the OT apocrypha are unacceptable, why did the NT writers quote them so heavily, such 1 Enoch and Sirach?
No they certainly did not. Show me the quotes.
there is no end to their madness.
the co gave a talk on inspired error.
i have never heard of it.
It's amazing what can be rationalized away when you spin religious poppycock, bullshit and outright lies as some kind of 'error' sanctioned by God.
For example, outspoken Watchtower critic and otherwise intelligent person Robert King, aka e-watchman, has given himself over to the whole idea that the JW religion is the true religion but that their false 1914 teaching is the literal fulfillment of the 'operation of error' spoken of in 2 Thess 2:11.
I suppose somebody has to run the fool's errand.

so...i totally stopped going to meetings two years ago.
since then, i have gotten married and moved into my husband's home.
his father and mother also live there.
I'm curious: do they have any of their Bibles on their ultra pathetic street literature stands?
If I walked up to a JW literature cart, would I see a Bible? If I asked them for a Bible what would they say?
The Mormons give away free Books of Mormon at their literature stands.
there is no end to their madness.

How can you tell if a Scotsman is from the McDonald clan?
Look up his sporran to see if he has a quarter-pounder.
