God's Holy Spirit - Contradiction?

here's the backstory: a jw posted a thread in /r/debatereligion basically allowing the community to ask him anything.

things got realer than he expected, i think.

someone brought up the failed predictions and asked if they would qualify as false prophecy(1 john 4:1).

Theres so much garbage in his response it's hard to know where to start.

Every now and then some very arrogant JW apologetic thinks he can take on the world online but in quick time his arguments are roundly refuted and he runs for cover.

Un shunning

Their total shunning policy is not only unscriptural and anti-family, it is completely anathema to the whole concept of charity.

Any religion that has a policy of shunning ex members, particularly of one's own family, should have its charitable and tax exempt status revoked.

All my WTBS loathing aside, I really like the new song, if it's the one posted by The Girl Next Door. I'll get flamed for saying this but I think it's the best KH melody yet.

It would sound great in one of those Joel Osteen style megachurches.

Definitely a sign here of going a bit more mainstream, at least superficially (but sadly not doctrinally where it matters.)

it is still strange, that an organization, lead by a group of old timers, is gaining billions at the moment, without giving any transparency and accountancy feedback, because these men "trust each other", and come away with that.. they got the property investment by the use of cohi associates, and deposit their liquid assets at the caymans.. it is clear: the real power behind the jw.org facade is securing his future.. don't get me wrong, i'm not insane, but more and more i got this strong gut feeling that some governmental organization has the real power.. gorby.

From Russell being buried by a Masonic cemetery in a pyramid, to the most glaring giveaway clue with their Bible being called the New World Translation (where is the expression New World found in scripture?), to their covert allegiance to and propagation of the UN objectives through their global publishing house and magazines distribution (the UN is a Masonic creation as the bureaucratic framework for the Platonic utopian ideal of global democracy), to their breaking down cultural, racial and language barriers and refusal to take up arms, to their preaching a global kingdom government uniting all nations under one pure language, to their frequently referring to themselves as a global 'brotherhood' (duplicating Freemason nomenclature)....the clues are obvious and replete that freemason and illuminati influences have affected the Watchtower Society.

please read it if you can, it will change your view!

and it totally devalidates the jw dogma that they are the only ones using god's name, no, they are actually orphans.

Yes, paradisebeauty.

YHWH was Gods old covenant name only. It was a Hebrew name for his chosen Hebrew race. That all changed at Pentecost when a person of any race could become an anointed son of the Father, who no longer wished to be referred to be Jewish letters and titles. That's why Jesus never once addressed the father as YHWH in scripture. And neither did Paul refer to the true God as YHWH in his famous speech at the Aeropagus in Acts 17. And why YHWH is absent from all extant NT texts.

There's little doubt that a Masonic agenda has influenced the direction the Watchtower Society has taken at the highest level.

So while "YHWH" may have appeared in certain verses, and should be restored to NT passages that are quoting OT passages that contain it, "Jehovah" is not the divine name by any stretch of the imagination.

Why should the tetragrammaton be 'restored' to NT passages that are quoting it from the OT when there is not a single extant manuscript of the NT that supports this?

It would have been ludicrous to insert the Hebrew characters YHWH into early Christian NT scriptures written for a Greek speaking audience and congregation. The Greek speaking reader of non Hebrew background would have had no idea what he was reading or how to pronounce it. So it made perfect sense to replace it uniformly with something else.

At the best, and without any textual support at all, the NWT should only have the tetragrammaton noted as a footnote in those places in the NT where the divine name was contained in an OT scripture being quoted.

The Watchtower leaders are utterly vile always banging this drum and perverting their adherents natural conscience and affection for family.

It's a sure sign it's an utterly false religion, more reprehensible than other religions in fact.

Watchtowers policy of shunning our own close relatives

having looked over the february' 2016 wt study article ' learn from jehovah's loyal servants' and meditating on the 'advice' from the fds aka gb regarding the shunning of our own close relatives if they have been disfellowshipped.

the example in par 7 highlighting how a woman called anne shuns her own mother for 'as she says' cutting herself off from jehovah.

i can't help but wonder how audacious and wreckless watchtower is in writing this stuff.

I tell my mother who shuns me that her actions are absolute confirmation to me that its not even close to being true Christianity and as long as this shunning family policy exists it's proof positive they're just another false religion, like all the rest, to be avoided like the plague.

(There's no better proof needed that the New Testament is full of fabrication and pious fraud than Acts 5).
