mitt romney is running for president of the united states.

i see one big problem with electing a mormon as president.

doing so will give much more respectability to the mormon church.

I am in full agreement with your opinion gopher. Having the majority vote on the rights of a minority is not appropriate. Gay marriage is here to stay in MA, and most people feel that Romney used the state as next step towards his presidential run. His mormanism only made the news when he told the papers they were gonna celebrate his gubenatorial victory by drinking chocolate milk instead of champagne.

Romney is the last of a long line of republican govs in MA. I have no idea why this is. New England tends to be a very diverse place, so Mormanism was no biggie.He did in the begining say he would not get involved with the matter of same-sex marriage, but he merely skirted the issue until the justices made their vote. It was after pressure from conservative interest groups where he pushed for legislation to have "the people" vote on the matter. I am sure many thought he didn't dig same-sex marriage cuz of his Mormanism, but the man is a politician and businessman, and he had to appeal to the conservative base.

Romney didn't ruin MA at all, he also didn't help much either. He had a rough term with his view on gay marriage.MA is the bluest state in USA, and he is a very red candidate. Unless you listen to talk radio, the media here is overwhelmingly to the left, focused more on the democratic primary, and Romneys Mormanism is not an issue, as it shouldn't be. My best guess is Rudy vs Hill in the end.

Aleman, if God killed Adam, Eve, and Satan, then his total kills would have been 3. He would have beat Satan by at least 3, if you don't count the atlantians or dinosaurs.

JW's Raised In - Did you get bullied during you Grade School Years?

due to the way i was raised a jw i constantly felt guilt for trying to act like the other guys and it made me stand out even worse.

to this day, due to this, i nowdays become somewhat physically ill whenever i hear a brother give a talk where he says (many here have heard it in different forms) "if jehovah was looking at you youths in the congregation during school could he tell the difference between you and a worldy person.

" myself and most of the other jw guys during middle school and high school did not have the confidence or the "rough and ready to fight" type of body language so we tended to get picked on.

My Father got the commi comments when he refused to salute the flag. I dreaded each day I went to tech school, fearing i would be impaled on 3/4 inch copper tubing, due to my J dubism, and by my small stature.(Easy to impale weaklings I suppose.)

ok, so whenever i would question the justice of the df policy, i kept.

getting the same line (even from my dad, an elder):.

people are not disfellowshipped because of the actual sin, they are.

I was under the impression that if the sin was consdered a practice, then it was evidence of unrepentice.That meant if you did the same "naughty" thing more than once no matter how sorry you were, you would be disciplined. I think people who accept blood once are screwed though, apparently they cant feel sorry for needing medical treatment.

Question about a WT song....

just thinking about a song that we used to sing at the kh....cannot remember the name of the song, but it was quite popular at the assemblies.. the questionable lyrics were, "fear not those who kill the body, but cannot destroy the soul" it continues on with "to the end continue faithful, i will take you to your goal".. this was from the old songbook (remember, the purple one).

has the wt$ changed the lyrics to this song?

do they sing it anymore?

I know they didnt change the body and soul line from that song, but they did change other stuff from the purple song book.I am not sure but I think they took whole songs out.
