Apostate Presence Rattles World Conference on Religion
by SickofLies ini know many of you probably never saw my post a few days ago inviting everyone to the world religions conference where i was a key note speaker.
i'd like to send a big thank you to kwintestal and mincan for showing and giving their support, surfice to say it made quite an impression that the three people standing up and defending atheism at the event were all ex-witnesses.
the theme for the event was on the topic of morals and modesty.

Do not be so biased. Every religious person(s) does not go running around preaching to everyone and all your doing is adding to it. Heck I once actually got a dude preaching atheism knocking on my door just last month. I treated him the same way as I treat anyone who goes to my door to tell me what to believe. I had my dog scare him off. But even now I do not base my entire opinion on atheists off that one guy.

As I said before, it doesn't matter what the situation, the same fact remains. People have a right to belief what they want. If my Mum or Dad or a relative or a friend for that matter turned to a different religion or atheism and tried to force me into their believes my response would simply be "F**k off, I believe what I want to believe and what I think is right". It just doesn’t matter what people think of others, the issue is respect. If you want to force people to believe what you want them to believe then all you end up being is a complete asshole. And yes, Purps, I think you will find that I truly am 16.

Opinion peice on Athiests
by SickofLies inthere seems to be a lot of hostility on the board toward atheists still and a lot of comments floating around like atheists are to preachy.
well i want to take a quick minute and deal with some of these issues.
to begin with, to make any statement regarding atheists in general would be false for several reasons.

Whoa....he is like if OBVES was a athiest. As for my opinion on athiests, as long as their doing good in the world and being friendly towards all I simply show my respect to them as with anyone.

Its all about respect. I respect people that do not believe in God, I respect people who believe in other things. All I want in return is their respect towards my own believes. Preaching is not going to help anyone, wither it be from thiest or athiest.
This is about respecting what people auctally want. -

Stupid JWs and their child abuse. Well at least it will eventually go from paedophile in the hall to paedophile in the Hell. Though from what I know those two things are quite simlar.

Congratulations Madam Smith.
I can't remember when I got baptized. Maybe because I was like a baby at the time. :P -

I agree with Carmel. Putting my Christian beliefs to one side for this discussion, I do believe that the anti religious group has gone to the point where they are almost an organised belief in their own right, their belief being a world with no religion. They even refer to each other as brothers and sisters in a very religious way. These days I think it makes more sense to simply not care about religion if you don't agree with them instead of launching a anti religion campaign which only leads to needless hatred. People should have the right to believe what they want, when they want and no one bares the right to tell them what to do. The same goes for non religious people, whom bare the right to not have to be preached to against their will. But sometimes a belief must be ended, ones that promote much negativity or the wrong message, like JW and Nazism for example.
