they are no exaggeration - things really are not great and people around us all seem to be talking about whether to leave or not.
and for the first time, we are amongst those talking about leaving - debating whether or not we would be able to give up life here and start over somewhere else.
The ignorance, contempt and deep seated hatred for Africans, and all things African as demonstrated by some on this thread would have been run of the mill in the grand scheme of things; except that, at one time or perhaps they still do, the publishers of such posts believed in the Brotherhood of Man. Makes one wonder what they thought the Good News was - and still is all about, including Kingdom Rule. Hmm!

Settler states have always been esatblished on the 'need and greed' of a people. Because stability on a piece of land that a people can call their own is the basis for nationhood, culture and religion, in essence their humanity; once it is lost, the striving for land and the atttempt to recover it becomes a recurring theme in their drama of human endurance and survival. Therefore, the Land Question is as old as people and nations.
Yes, in the Americas the European settlers have been there so long that they no longer consider themselves settlers. They either brought the indigenous population under contol or literally destroyed them as in the case of the almost total desrtruction of the native population of Australia and the total destruction of the black population in Tasmania. Consequently, in these lands where a noticeable prescence of the indigenous population is still present; they are viewed as intruders.
That the Blacks (Africans) were 'intruders' in the european settler state of apartheid south africa (and perhaps, still are in the minds of some) has been a recurrent theme in the posts of those who take issue with the unravelling of post apartheid south africa. In the transition from being a european settler state to an indigenous african state, there will be 'birth pangs'; difficulties. The average John and Jane that benefited fom the old order (apartheid) will suffer discomfiture and sometimes loss of prviledges. I'm sure this explains the exodus of mainly white south africans to their european homelands of origin, and elsewhere that european nation states control. Not all whites will leave because some love the land and its peoples, and others have nowhere else to go. The established rich and wealthy elites will stay put until, if it occurs, they have to leave for their physical safety.
Loubelle, I don't view you as 'Coloured'. You are a child of Africa, an African woman with blood ties to the land. Learn to love the land and its peoples from that perspective and you will know yourself.

Not yet but its in its death throes. Things have fallen or are falling apart: the old order (apartheid) is passing away. Consequently, some bot not all will no longer be at ease.

South Africa, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and 'pre-independent' Kenya were European provinces carved out of African lands as ' european settler states'. The carving up of these lands was done by violence , and thereafter the new reality for the African was maintained by force. In other words, these 'european settler states' on African land existed because of genocide, slavery and racism.
Madiba (Nelson) and the ANC in South Africa did not liberate a single African from the humiliation/degradation of conquest, occupation and enslavement. This is why the poisonded chalice of the post-apartheid transfer of 'administrative power ' to the Africans does not function well and in the long term cannot be sustained. A liberation struggle by definition should always be about the indigenees of any land reclaiming sovereignty over themselves and their lands from the invader and occupier or their descendants. This has'nt happened in South Africa; hence the current state of affairs.
If you don't understand the above, then everything else you think you know about this matter will only confuse you.

The foundations of World Empires are always laid with initial assaults on the land by the invader; followed looting of resources (mineral and human); then when it is expedient, invasion and a subsequent brutal subjugation/pacification of the people of the land. Thereafter, the indigenees existence is subgect to the inclinations and desires of the invader/occupier.
In a nutshell, 'south africa' was a European province carved out in the land of Africans by violence and maintained by force. It was never legitimate. Dare I say this? It was and remains a dysfunctinal entity, as other lands and peoples that have survived the humiliation and indignities of occupation. Having said this, I know where you are coming from; therefore habour no thoughts of condemnation. However,the Creator never purposed that his intelligent human creation should be subject to illegitimate and unjust rule by their own, foreign or not.

for those who don't, dr. ehrman is a professor of religious studies at the university of north carolina, chapel hill, and has written several books including misquoting jesus: the story behind who changed the bible and why, in which he includes some biographical material.
in this book, ehrman recounts how he became a christian through a youth ministry while in high school, and he claimed to have had a genuine "born again" experience (although he doesn't give any details of what that experience was for him).

Including others, that I may get acquainted with in due time, I have due regard for your contributions to the Board. Suffice to say, for the time being, I do not have any issues with the Society, which were not made evident during my baptismal questions session; viz, the Scriptures do not support their claim that elders are spirit appointed, are the only approved body of worshipers on earth that the Creator deals with, and that I will not be told by any man who to converse with or not. I recall, on the day, that I told the elders present that my viewpoints were not negotiable. They consulted with each other and thereafter, I was approved for baptism. However, its being a year, since I last associated. I am not DF, have no intention of DA, and do not view myself as a Fader. My baptismal vows were made to the Creator based on universal truths recorded in the Hebrew/Aramaic Scriptures and not to any Organisation. So, when or who I choose to engage with, as regards my spiritual need (based on truth) has always being a matter for me and not the decision of any man.

Until this post, I have been a lurker. My concern about the Board is the same as I have for the Society. Too Eurocentic!
The Hebrew/Aramaic scriptures were based on the histories and experiences of peoples native to the Levant and North-east Afica. These peoples havent disapperaed or being exterminated. If you really want an accurate knowledge of the Scriptures, research the native writings and oral histories of Kemet/Misr (Ra), Kas/Kush, Kanen/Canaan, Arameans/Syrians, Assyrians, Chaldeans/Babylonians and Persians. Interesting sidelines and information about the the bible, unknown or disregarded by the Western Church will be revealed to you.
