PLEASE!!! Let them run out of GAS.
I don't think the old farts in Brooklyn will ever run out of gas.
suppose you had a business that didn't make money.
you would try to make the thing more efficient and probably lay off.
some workers to cut costs.

have you noticed the article of awake about toys?
after throwing records dvd tapes and son we must clean our houses of the toys particularly dolls can some one speaking a good english explain awake magazine dated june 2008 the article about "more than just toys".....http://www.jw.org/index.html?option=nbzr..they are mad please god forgive them..excuse my so poor english
Dolls are evil! They are spiritistic and contribute to loose morals. That's not what that article said, but it's how some dubs will understand it. They are trained to read between the lines and come to crazy conclusions. Give them a few years and we will probably start hearing stories of demonised dolls that can't be burned.
so they're doing away with the book study?
i thought that was the safe haven when the authorities finally banned the meetings at the kingdom hall and persecuted us (according to jw prophecy), meeting in small groups at people's homes.
any thoughts?.
It appears the governing body realises that the great tribulation isn't coming.
do you think the governing body is really concerned about gas prices, or are they just trying to protect themselves from pedophilia lawsuits and liability claims for accidents in private homes?

well i've been gone 10 years.
ran around and looked for friends still in, wound up aposticizing myself to one of them (couldn't help it, just so derned aggrivating, had to tell her how it is).
i'm thinking about going to the district convention this summer to continue to fully experience not being a jw.
I found the link for the Watchtower Money. http://www.dannyhaszard.com/pickets/WT$.htm

Hey, I know you. Welcome to JWD. You have some good ideas. There are some zero dollar bills with Charles Russel's picture on it. Does anyone have a link? They're good for contribution boxes. If you go to the convention, feel free to use the vending machines. It irritates them. If there is a resolution, it's your right to shout no when they ask if everyone agrees. Some people leave little post it notes around with apostate messages on them. If you can get your hands on some old Witness literature you can put apostate tracts in it and leave it there. It will eventually end up in the lost and found. Rochester often has protesting apostates. You can pretend to be a dub and carry on a loud animated conversation with them within earshot of others. I'll have to keep thinking about this. I'm giving myself ideas.
on a recent trip home to valdosta ga, my father stated that 1/2 of the local .
spanish congregation were illegal immigrants.
a friend this morning whose mother is a witness has heard similar things .
I'm sick of the hypocrisy of the Watchtower Society. They target illegal immigrants, give them false hopes, get them to perform free labor and use their newly acquired social network to intimidate them and keep them in line. They are worse than the unscrupulous employers that take advantage of them. They are making a mockery of the law because it suits them and because it helps them to publish a positive growth rate.
i'm just trying to fill a logical hole.
many people conclude that the existence of life or the structure of the universe demands that there be a god.
i don't really agree with this, but i can sympathise with that viewpoint.
I'm just trying to fill a logical hole. Many people conclude that the existence of life or the structure of the universe demands that there be a god. I don't really agree with this, but I can sympathise with that viewpoint. I certainly think it's possible that some kind of god intervened at some point in the history of the universe. However, some people will then make an enormous leap and claim that the god of Bible (or some other favored deity) must therefore exist. I thought it might be useful to just contemplate how many gods are possible, if one or more exists.
I suggest that we allow a very broad definition of god for this discussion. The fact that a god may have intervened at some point doesn't demand that he be benevolent or all knowing. It just means he or it must have had the ability to intervene in some way.
If a person has a favored deity and wants to convince others of its existence, then he would have to show why that is the only possible deity or at least provide an explanation of why that deity is more probable than all the others.
So what kinds of god are possible? Or there any that you think are more likely than others?
i think the loss of the book study will hit some like a death of a friend.
it will mark the end of an era.
it will forever change the religion of jehovah's witnesses and i believe the change is completely irreversible.. of course, most witnesses will be delighted by this.
mvs,
Welcome to JWD! This news has been reported by several on this site. I don't think we have actual proof yet, but the number and quality of the sources is very convincing, in my opinion. There is supposed to be an announcement at the 4/27 meeting. It's reported that the bookstudy will be shortened to about 25 minutes and combined with the ministry school. It's supposed to take effect in January of '09. There are also a large number of other threads on the topic floating around if you are curious about it.
the jw media site recently made an update about persecution in uzbekistan.

i'm concerned about any kind of religious persecution or actions that limit freedom of religion or freedom from religion.

I'm concerned about any kind of religious persecution or actions that limit freedom of religion or freedom from religion. Of course, I agree that the brutal practices of Jehovah's Witnesses are a threat to society. I'm glad that some governments realise that. I just think that religious persecution is wrong and, in the case of Jehovah's Witnesses, probably counterproductive.
I thought it might be interesting to discuss better ways for governments to deal with the antisocial effects of Jehovah's Witnesses. I suspect the best methods may deal with money. For example, instead of forcing them underground, it may be better to allow them to operate as a business in that country and tax them accordingly. Jehovah's Witnesses love persecution, but hate anything that threatens their finances. Instead of of passing laws that limit freedoms, they could pass laws that strengthen the rights and freedoms of victims of Jehovah's Witnesses and other cults. This would make it easier to sue them for pedophilia issues, damages due to the blood ban or institutionally enforced shunning, slander, etc. This would probably be more effective and could raise the county's status as a defender of international human rights laws.
What do you think?
