The reports I have been hearing indicate that the Watchtower server(s) may have already been hacked. If this isn't correct, there is at least a serious intention to do so with the hope of a huge payoff. In any case, I'm sure that there are a lot of worried Witnesses in Brooklyn right now.

I'm getting the impression that this leak has already happened, althought it's possible that they are just talking about the potential size of the leak. Most of the information and emails that have been posted on this thread have been around for a while and were being used to try to hack the servers to get more information.
If this leak is real it might take some time to upload everything to Wikileaks or whever they are planning on posting it. Hopefully, we will have some more information within a few hours.

Remember that the media often checks the activity on Twitter when they are covering stories like this. OpPedoChat is already being discussed in the news, although I haven't seen any mention of the Watchtower suboperation yet. If we get our information on Twitter, especially if we use the hashtag @OpPedoChat there is an excellent chance that it will be seen by journalists.
It appears that Anonymous is currently collecting data and investigating vulnerabilities on the official Watchtower websites. When that phase is over, things could get really exciting. We should prepare ourselves for the possibility of significant media attention.

It appears that Anonymous is still collecting data and investigating vulnerabilites. When they are done with that phase, we might see some real fireworks. It would be good to prepare ourselves to publicize the results when things start to happen. Significant media coverage is a possibility. The XJW community did a good job of sharing Sparlock and Candace Conti with the world. This could be even bigger.

I wanted to point out that the Anonymous attack against the Watchtower Society is a suboperation of OpPedoChat. This is good in that the Watchtower and its websites are rightly being grouped with child abuser friendly websites and organizations. The downside is that many of those involved with the operation aren't familiar with the child abuse policies of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to informing the public of the dangers we should also be helping members of Anonymous to understand this issue.

by Soldier77 inthis is pure speculation on my part and i hope to get some others to join in sharing their thoughts on this topic.. with the recent push by "mother" to rely heavily on their site jw.org, correspondance to elder bodies, publication downloads, library access, imagine the impact an attack to their site could produce to the organization.. here we have the gb jumping on the bandwagon, late as usual, but still trying to grasp the internet, and saying that it's "okay" to use the internet, and when you do, please go to our site.
so you have a lot of people that may have been die hard, anti-internet because it's from the devil, now saying, okay, lets get a computer, get internet service and hop online..... that's where all hell breaks loose.
they log on the great world wide web and type in the "officially backed" website.... and bam!

Imagine sending a fake email that says that Anonymous is planning on sending fake emails and letters and provide strict instructions that all future correspondence should be verified by a call to headquarters.
Can you imagine how many hundreds or thousands of phone calls they would get? After they finish telling all these elders that they shouldn't be calling headquarters you could send out more fake emails that wont be double checked.
